'Free Jahar:' Boston bomb suspect's cult following

www.news.com.au

DZHOKHAR Tsarnaev has now been charged with using weapons of mass destruction and faces the death penalty if he's convicted.

But the 19-year-old suspected of co-conspiring in the Boston Marathon bombing has already won a legion of supporters who are proclaiming his innocence, Wired reports.

Just as social media carried the story last week, including a few fake rumours and false alarms, the likes of Twitter, Facebook and Instagram are now buzzing with the growing #freejahar movement.

Rather interesting that the suspect of the Boston bombings has such a devoted following of people who think he is innocent and that the Government might have been involved.

Unsurprisingly, the article includes the opinion of an "expert" that conspiracy theorists maintain a certain mindset when tragedies like these take place:

"We are dealing with conspiratorially minded individuals who don't believe anything the government says anyway," Stanford University's Thomas Hegghammer, a terrorism expert, told Wired.

Then there is the appeal to emotion:

"The simplest and most effective strategy is probably to highlight the suffering caused by the bombs.

"Let them see the injured women and children. The most hardcore extremists won't care, but some fence-sitters might."

I am still divided on whether or not this was a false flag, but some of the articles on ATS have proven very interesting in building such a case.

The government will have a nice handy list of possible terrorists to keep track of now. Not a bad idea! Wonder if the government started this.

Well, that does make for the list of the most extremist anti-government and anti-establishment individuals this nation has to offer. How kind of them to so openly offer themselves up to be indexed. Heck. I was worried they might come for people like me. I can see they have quite a list to get through before coming to those who are sincere dissenters.

Unless reasonable proof stands that the guy is innocent? (I'm seeing 100% the opposite myself), then it's standing in line to support a murderer and terrorist. I wonder how many friends Timothy McVeigh would have gotten if he'd have done his animal act today instead of 1995? I'll bet he'd have had a real following. Sad.... Very sad to see what things have come to.

I really think all people want is to be shown all the videos. Satan will use any one he can to destroy the u.s. and so often we don't even know we are being used or lied to for that end until we wake up to the true nature of our reality that he really does exist.

This is when we'll see all the Anti-Govt. renegades coming out of the woodwork.
Claiming their hatred for the Establishment and our New world Overlords.

According to the interrogators this is the case. Will we get to see the actual interview? Can we believe anything that comes from TPTB?

Greed, Power, Manipulation, Deceit, Hidden Agenda's. There are only a small handful of human beings that I can safely believe and trust. I have absolutely no respect for any governing bodies, the law and the system as a whole. They F***ING own us. I would rather die than be a F***ING prisoner trapped on a rock!

This makes me angry.

Really? Wow.

Will these people still stand behind this man if he's proven guilty? (In my mind, I've no doubt he's guilty).

You see here's the thing - regardless he still did it. Let's say the anti-government, anti-american extremists have it right. That the CIA or FBI convinced him to do the act. How does that make him any less culpable for his actions anyways? How does that change what he agreed to do to innocent people? Fact is - it doesn't. He's still responsible for his own actions - whether it was following his brother, a terrorist cell, or even our government's orders. He still did it. So regardless, of how this pans out - he's still answerable to agreeing to it.

Side note - my teenager is furious with me. I demanded that she show me the sites she frequents so we can look for extremist propaganda together and learn how to recognize it. She's an artist so she frequents deviant art and she's like, "Mom, there is nothing here!" I was like, oh yeah, let's read some of the comments and just make sure okay?

I love life.

Likely, it's the same sort of people that think PFC Manning didn't break the laws either.
The level of denial and insanity of those sorts escapes me.

WMDs!

Death Penalty!

Just like his brother Tamerlan - minus the convicted part. What kind of American cult would take justice in their very own hands even after arresting and stabilizing their older 'suspect'??

Yes I saw this! Amen to that! But do you know what is next? Folks claiming that it was a body double at the time.

So many people here are anti government, so my jokes here in this thread are not very popular. I am not anti government, just anti certain corrupt politicians. There are good people along with the bad. Anyways, I am happy that the government keeps track of extreme conspiracists and possible terrorists. Just take a look at what was prevented up in Canada. That is what the US was capable of in the days before Obama.

What happened to those boys is also proof of what happens to children subjected to irrational conspiracies. Those here that think like this, and talk about it around their children, may want to remember this. Consider this a wakeup call.

Anyways, I was sickened by the thought of US citizens defending terrorists that hurt their fellow Americans. But being optimistic, at least we will now be a bit safer since I am certain the government will be watching that group closely.

Why aren't people seeing that the social media support is being propagated by the cell members themselves!! I believe they have at least one Twitter account they are using to spread confusion and misinformation and it's working. See my thread in General Conspiracy theories about it! It fits! I started off on the other side of this argument. I was seeing a false flag (as my early posts will show) but I have switched sides because I cannot ignore what I have found.

I haven't checked out both of the Twitter accounts mentioned in the article but the one I have checked out and found DAMNING is, strangely, not mentioned, despite the fact he has 3000 new followers telling him what a great guy he is for supporting his "brother", Jahar. I don't buy it for a second and within hours of me posting about it in various threads here, he has decided it's time to get off Twitter. There is a cell involved and they are monitoring the web and using social media to create doubt and stir-up anti-government sentiment and it's been more than successful! It's like a virus that is spreading unchecked (or un-thought through). Many people are being sucked into it and these guys are laughing their asses off at us. I mean, who has a rego plate "Terrorist 1" for starters, eh? Seriously, people!

There are plenty of people who recognize it. Extremism is a minority and will always remain so. It's cognitive dissonance - in the extreme - that they think what they are doing is going to incite war in America. They are less than a percent of the population. And their not thinking things through - young Americans who want to beat the drums of war. They are beating the drums of war against their own people - and they'll still remain in the minority.

But you know, it taught me a lesson. I'm now spending much more time - butting into my own teenagers time on the internet. If she could turn me into a frog right now, I know she would!
