Where is the pain in your back? Is it sort of in the spine area? Lower back or upper back. If lower back could it be kidneys? Kidney stones hurt like hell.

It's not kidney stones.

I had a back operation.

It was a spine operation for scoliosis.

Lower, where the hips are.

That's the most painful area.

My wife has been trying to find out what has been hurting her back ever since she was a child. A few months back we had finally figured out the cause of it after a whole lot of doctor visits. She was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, I mean it when I say that, I hope everything turns out well. But about the doctor being mean, he could have just been having a bad day is all. Either that or he has hardly administered shots.

I think, because he knows my sister, he thought I was the same way.

I think if he saw me first, he wouldn't of been so stabbing.

Who knows.

She likes to leave an impression on people.

I think my first mistake, was going to my sister's doctor.

I learned that lesson.

Years ago now, my friend had a jab which was supposed to go between the vertebra in her spine. It went through one, and now she can't walk without severe pain. She can't even play with her children without being heavily medicated.

You went to the ER and asked for an X-ray, and they said you needed a lumbar X-ray. You asked who did them, and they replied that they did.... So did you have one? Or what? I am having difficulty understanding why you don't know the status of whether you have a needle point in your spine if you found somewhere that can give you what you want?

Thank God for the NHS, this would have been over ages ago.

Relax and breathe out next time you get a shot if you have anxiety in doc. offices?
It's a just a shot, no big deal. Put on your big girl pants, it'll be over in a second.

No.

I went to the ER first, because of the pain being so unbearable to stand or walk. The only thing that the ER did, was give me 1 shot in the back and 3 days for pain. The ER told me to follow up with any doctor that did x-rays on the lower back and gave me a referral for an Orthopedic doctor. I asked specifically for an Orthopedic doctor because they did the operation.

Come to find out.

Orthopedics's doesn't do lumber regions anymore.

That week I had to drop my sister off at the doctor's and while dropping her off, I noticed that their sign had X-Rays in bold.

So, I figured, I would ask them if they were experienced in the Lumbar region and the receptionist says "Yes", that's what they specialize in.

So, I was like WTH.

Might as well do the follow up and find out if there is a problem.

What could go wrong?

She was seen first because she already made her appointment. But, the sign said they take walk in's and do x-rays.

I was seen second.

I didn't think nothing of it.

I did.

I didn't cry, scream or anything.

I sucked it up.

Easier said than done on the after effects though.

I just don't have the words right now to tell you about Doctors and pain, needles injected in backs. I will however say I don't even know who you are but I will say a prayer for you tonight. I have learned that there is pain out there that I would not wish on my worst enemy.
Hope you get better.

Haha, yeah that could be a reason as well, although he shouldn't be quick to judge someone based off the other family members, and if that was the case every doctor around here that knows my family should really dislike me lol!

Sometimes you don't write things in a chronological fashion, I think thats why I and some others might be finding it difficult to be on the same page as you

Good luck with it though, Manhater. Having seen the suffering my friend has gone through, I can only imagine how much pain you're in.

Oh Manhater, hey I didn't recognize you with your new avatar. Wow... sorry to hear about this. Are you still couch surfing and everything?

Reading this thread, I will assume that you went to the hospital complaining of low back pain. They told you to go elsewhere to get a lumbar X-ray (which makes no sense, every hospital has X-ray. I have a tiny clinic, and I have my own X-ray machine!), so you went to a pain management guy with your sister in tow. She saw him first, raised some red flags, you saw him next, raised some more red flags, admitted that you were an addict by signing a narcotic contract, and are now pissed off about your treatment and current pain level. Did I summarize that correctly?

Being in the medical profession, I can tell you that if a hospital told you to go elsewhere for an X-ray, then they lied. I can only see them doing that because something that you said or did raised red flags. They don't want narcotic chasers in the ER. That's why ER's are getting so weird about giving out pain meds. Then you made the mistake of going to a walk in pain clinic - a place where pill poppers flock to for strong narcotics, and then you compounded the mistake by going to a pain clinic with your sister, who by all accounts, doesn't present the best image. It is highly unusual for someone in incredible pain to make a doctors appointment with another individual. That alone told the doc that the two of you were likely pill shopping. Then you admitted to taking narcotic use/history and signed a contract. So now they have written verification from you that you have/had a drug problem.

If you are in serious pain, you need to see an orthopedic specialist and have them evaluate your hardware. Tell them that you went to the hospital and pain clinic, and that they minimized your concerns and never looked to see if you could be having post surgical complications. Don't sign any more contracts, and don't pour out your life story to every doc. Thanks to obamacare, medical info should be kept to a need-to-know basis. Don't lie, but don't divulge this chaotic mess or you just look like a nut. When it comes to doctors, keep it chronological and simple. They have 5 minutes tops to spend with you. Make them count and let them know what you want them to do for you. Heaven forbid, don't take your sizer or anyone else to your appointments.

Well, you have totally twisted everything.

Maybe you should go back and re-read it again.

I have only been to 2 doctors in 10 yrs dude.

Both for two different things.

1. My Dentist.
2. Urgent care through school.

If that makes me a drug addict, then so be it. I've seen worse people than me.

You would never dare say that to a Christian Scientist they would immediatlely dislike you as a medical professional afficianado only the Gods Einstein or a Christian Barnard would do (they are perfectionists).

If you actually read what I wrote, I never said you were an addict. I said you were perceived to be an addict and your actions compounded the problem.

Just how you described this series of events was discombobulated. Imagine how it came off in person with a crazy sister in tow. There was zero need for your ortho or pain doc to know about your dental meds. Zero. You completely created this problem and exacerbated it by signing a contract.

I gave you a concrete solution to actually remedy your problem.]
