I think Satan knew God pretty well.

They are brothers in crime.

Specimen: The idea of God being some universal life force could be enlightening...As well as blinding, if not Childish to such a, larger then life figure of speech.

God is the child we are its parents (we tell it who it is).

Specimen: The way religion is today, it more less motivational and social behavior pep talks, compared to its plausible original construction, to where it was something of being a tribal or ancient civilization of education, as well as the believe that such ways of life are eternal lessons, and such views may have been considered as wisdom, due to, if any having any real conception of reality.

Backwards thinking. Religion is 'power based' belief thinking. To believe in anything is untrue. Gnostic reasoning comes from the heart and mind combining.

Specimen: I'm way past that idea or conception of being God, or feeling connected with God...How ever one puts it.

Don't give up yet; the future is comedic and you will be surprised at the outcome.

Maybe the strict mannerful, Monotheistic ones more so, while the polytheistic ones may have been more tribal or civilization involved, where they would/or should of at least past methodologies or skill set from one generation to the other. But how true and common such things have happened enough, and redundantly.

Meh, it not so much giving up on God, I just don't see the light in society or civilization as we know it, even with all the fancy, flashing gizmos these days.

I cannot think of 'dogmatic religion' without referencing "The Emperor and his New Clothes." Another religion another fallacy to dupe the flock. I wish it were different, but the message "the kingdom of God is within you" is lost upon westerners.

Those gizmos are just toys; they are distractions (is that the purpose) once gone civilization is crippled; the weakness of this is already revealed and no one seems to see this Achilles heel. I believe in a creator and what its purpose is (to know itself through its creations). Some would call it God, some the binary Universe attempting to organize itself into smaller and smaller bits of understandable information. Its all NOBLE as effort; just misguided in the confusion of purpose or intent. Why are we here; and when put to the AUO IT will not answer that simple query? Is it because it doesn't know?

Lets all admit that no one knows the truth about if there is a god or if so no one know anytjing about him/her.
Anyone who claims they have any answers is a liar because no one knows.

Or religion invented man

Man divides not religion. Religion is only a theory on paper it’s not anything dynamic.

Religion becomes what dynamic humans mutilate it into because they are flawed.

Religion is sort of like a gun. It does what the practitioner wants it to do not what the truth or God wants

Religion steals the mantle of truth through flawed human beings…its only an inert potential.

Originally the founders were given this theory with potential and only clerics distorted it and divided human beings through it

So today religion is a clerical institution with little to do with their founders

Religion as an idea form did not INVENT Mankind. Cart before the horse. The founders of this country were very clear regarding a separation of 'church and state'.

A slightly different Perspective;

'Religion' is the congregation of those infected with the same strain of 'belief'!
'Beliefs' are a pathologically symptomatic infection of the imagination/thought/ego! Vanity!
(And no, not everyone is infected with 'beliefs'!)
A few symptoms are that the 'believer' must constantly 'defend' his beliefs, must constantly 'validate/feed' his infection and the infection must propagate, be 'spread'!
A 'belief infection' inhibits cognitive and intellectual function, ending in insanity!
Thus philosophical discourse with a believer is not possible.
One is intellectual, the other emotional.
(Thus the chess playing pigeon analogy; The pigeon/belief infested' knocks over the pieces, poops on the board and returns to the flock claiming victory!)

The symptoms are consistent throughout all 'strains' of the infection.
'Beliefs' are obviously not 'logically, rationally, chosen', they are caught and spread, like leprosy.
We have no say in the matter.
The 'belief infection' has been exceptionally long lived, but is dying, and will be dead within the next two centuries, as will all religion.
We will all be mystics, One in unconditional Love, or we will not be.

Enlightenment = unconditional Love!

Here's how We can recognize the neighborhood;

True, unconditional Love is ALWAYS recognized by It's unconditional Virtues; Compassion, Empathy, Sympathy, Gratitude, Humility, Charity (charity is never taking more than your share of anything, ever!), Honesty, Happiness, Faith...
ALWAYS!

Unconditional Love has, obviously, not anything to do with the conditional dualistic vanity/insanity of imaginary 'beliefs'.

"Nothing is easier than self-deceit. For what each man wishes, that he also believes to be true." - Demosthenes

"Be empty of what you know
Your clever mind just whips up
A dust storm of pride.
Allow yourself to be fooled and
peace clowns its way into your heart.

If your head would shatter in wonder
at what Reality really is,
reason’s tyranny would end and
every hair on your head would
become an oracle" - Rumi
