Happened last night, will update if possible.

Raw translation :

San Miguel de Tucuman (DPA) / The Nation (GDA). A strong glow lit several provinces in northwestern Argentina in the early hours on Sunday, in what was considered a meteor passing through Earth's atmosphere that surprised people.

The phenomenon was recorded in photographs spread through social networks (Check it here) and security cameras filmed 24 hours in various cities, as you can see in the video that accompanies the note.

It could be observed for several seconds near 03:00 hours on Sunday (1:00 a.m. Peruvian time) how the night lit up like daylight with the provinces of Santiago del Estero and Tucumán. Also spotted in Cordoba, La Rioja, Santa Fe and Chaco.

According to reports, in the south santiagueño, on the border with Córdoba, was where was harder, and from the provincial police confirmed that after 9 there had been no casualties, injuries or people who have reported more than what is known: the sky lit for several seconds midway through the morning, reports The Nation, which has recorded the testimonies of social networks.

Some people also said that they heard a loud bang and a kind of tremor, reports news agency DyN today, but the National Institute of Seismic Prevention (INPRES) recorded no earthquake in the last hours.

A METEOR OVER SIZE "
"The light was very intense, first green, then took a white, and finally became a fireball. Seconds after it happened, he felt a tremor and a buzz similar to the shock wave of an explosion happens, "assured neighbors north of the city of Santiago del Estero to portal" El Nuevo Diario ".

The director of the Astronomical Observatory of Santa Fe, Jorge Coghlan, told the Todo Noticias channel that it was "a meteor that entered the atmosphere at a speed of 130,000 miles per hour."

"He was larger than that of a meteorite, which disintegrated in the air. When he was at an altitude of 65 kilometers, totally disintegrated, "said the specialist.

Santiago del Estero dawned with a cloud of colors, the trail left by the meteorite was seeing the sky in an impressive manner. "El Nuevo Diario" videos collected in the city landscape.

Very interesting, so thank you for the post, OP.
There are so many 'distractions' taking place at the moment and very few are noticing the state of the planet and the increase in meteor activity.

S&F Op. Wow, that was a huge light. The people were a lot calmer than I would have been. I wonder if anyone knows where we are located in our solar system. I am aware our whole system rotates, but often wonder what type of timeline are we presently in or if any scientist has ever figured it out? Thanks Op. Great catch.

Will we soon see a lot more and spirals in the sky, until we carve them on rocks all over the world?

Cool. I had a dream a couple nights of a meteorite. I made this happen

I had a dream 2 nights ago that I left a basketball arena with a my parents after a win. We are walking through the parking lot and notice a car's windshield and passenger side frame are smashed in. Still resting in damaged area was a meteorite about the size of a watermelon. I grab the meteorite and we hustle outta there. Later, I have it appraised and am told it's worth $43 million.

Can't wait for that to come to frution!!

Very convenient timing, considering that we are entering into a very active meteor shower over the next few days, the Lyrid's Meteor Shower which has gone viral as being "the rarest kind." Actually, it is an annual event, with nothing notable this time round..

But this OP combined with the MANY other impressive fireballs worldwide, and of course the incredible impact in Russia, all together have me a bit ill at ease about the upcoming shower.

Let the fates deal the cards, I suppose.
Either way, here is a good link to figure out your area's best viewing locations/times!

These meteors are popping up everywhere these days, I just had one come in in front of my car in December when I was driving on the highway.

Nostradamus predicted in his preface to ”Quatrains”:

”This is why, before and after these revolutions in various countries the rains will be so diminished and an abundance of fire and fiery missiles shall fall from the heavens that nothing shall escape the holocaust.”

Being a good person, that is underestimated these days.

So I was correct after all.

Scientists are all like "Duuuur dis er duf um is a one in a life tiem event".

No it isn't, things like this can happen anytime. Perhaps it can get to a point were it can be a daily thing. (Inwhich it is, but specifically large meteors"

We can never predict when things like this happen.

Correct about what?

If you are referring to Chelyabinsk, that was a whole order of magnitude (or two) larger than this recent event over Argentina, and events of that scale are "once in a lifetime".

Events like this Argentinian fireball are much more common - hardly a revelation.

You are right though about fireball class events being unpredictable in general, although as I pointed out here there are at least some researchers who think there is evidence to support this time of year having a higher frequency of fireballs than at other times of year.

On a personal level an event like the one over Argentina would be considered a once in a lifetime event.
