I would like a feature where a little box at the top or bottom of every page titled 'search thread' could be used to Search the particular thread. I have seen it elsewhere and in fact I can do so on any of my own documents.

It would allow people to find things easier. Consider the main Boston thread is 348 pages, that is an awful lot of reading time to someone coming in late because they just woke up. It would also aid in research at a later date.

Is this terribly different to put in in some future site update.

Think that is a really good idea... ats search engines not an ATS strong point though..

Think 'word search' as opposed to 'search engine'. In word it is called 'find next' and can be used to find a word or phrase.

What a great Idea
I know I missed so much at work yesterday, just on the drive home pages were added faster than I could read them.

Would be nice to be able to search a thread apart from friends posts.

by using control + f it will bring up search field and then the results... as you can see above.

cheers
oh afterthought, in the myats section, under your profile you can click on your threads or posts and if you do that, it will take you to each post you have made.
so if you remember roughly where it is, (for eg, the man that was found with the jacket and kill switch) = you can sift through them really easily and quickly.

ETA Only works for the displayed page. See next post.

I tried Control + F.

It only works for the displayed page.

I would like the same functionality to search the whole thread, all 350 pages if necessary. This functionality would have to be imbedded in the ATS software.

Thanks for the replies but not what I am looking for.

Well it wouldn't do for the whole thread, but I use control "f" to find anything on a page. Yeah you'd have to go page by page looking for results, but it already available and doesn't require ATS to code anything. Just my 2 cents.
