Two suspects armed with explosives and guns battled law enforcement officers in a Boston suburb early Friday morning, unleashing chaos until cops took one of the men into custody, witnesses and authorities said.

The standoff in Watertown, Mass., erupted shortly after the fatal shooting of a Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer.

Authorities were investigating whether the standoff, the fatal shooting and Monday's marathon bombing are connected.

Possible confrontation with suspects? Sorry if this has been posted already I did not see it and this broke an hour ago. The article says they are investigating any links to the MIT shooting and TMB and this shootout with 2 suspects. 1 suspect shot and another believed to be at large. There are many small threads being woven together here but we will have to wait until more information is available.
