Joe Biden says the president of the United States is preparing to take "executive actions" to deal with guns.

Vice President Biden told White House allies in the gun control fight Thursday that President Obama will be announcing new executive actions on gun violence in the days after the Senate voted down a gun violence bill.

www.weeklystandard.com...

Who did not see this coming?

After the Senate shoot down yesterday there was only one course of action left to take.

Never mind that Connecticut had already some of the toughest gun control laws in the country, they quickly "fixed" on their own.

Now here comes the dictator in chief seems they really don't like a democracy all that much.

Very interesting! Any idea what exactly he intends to go after through these executive actions? Aren't executive actions just like a glorified to do list? What good will that do? Just more pandering to the anti gun crowd for political gain perhaps?

No matter if you're pro gun or anti gun, every American should be against any executive order of any kind. I am truly disturbed by this type of action.

He sounded so pissed yesterday after the bill failed to pass. What a sore loser. He loses so he tries to find a way to fix the game in his favor. Why even use the democratic process if you're just going to dictate the laws yourself? What an ass.

Obama ... doing exactly what we thought he would do.

Those who voted for this guy should apologize to the country.

Hopefully it gets slapped down hard, so that these anti-american politicians will get the message America will not stand for them messing with the Constitution.

I good indication would be the 23 he already signed.
CNN

I would naturally expect this second wave of EO's to be even more extreme. If not, he would already have done them.

Really why do we even have a congress at all when the Potus gets to do what ever floats his boat.

There was a reason this country was set up with a systems of checks and balances a constitutional lawyer should know that.

Of course he was mad....If they could have gotten the bill through the Senate then the House of Reps would not have passed it.. The Democratic party could have blamed the mean old death and destruction Republicans for all the failures...Elegant in the plan but to many Democrats wanted to keep their jobs so it never got the wings to fly off the floor..

A lesson learned from the 90s AWB after that passage claiming the "majority" supported it much like they say now the majority fired them soon after.

What is an Executive Action?:

“It just means something the executive branch does. The use of any of a number of tools in the executive branch’s toolbox,” said one administration official.
Executive actions can include “regulation, enforcement, statements of policy…and numerous other things,” the official continued.
So, basically, it’s anything the President does that doesn’t modify a law.

Source

So this answers my previous question, it is just a glorified to do list and nothing more. He cannot modify law using Executive Actions.

If he changes them to Executive Orders then it will be something to get angry about, but for now it looks like he is just doing this to make it look like he is actually doing something when in fact it will do nothing.

I would think that is an impeachable offense to legislate from the executive an alteration to the constitution.

The nerve!!

I guess when everyone freaks out over this trial balloon, Reid will just adjust the Senate rules so that only a majority vote is needed and not 60%.

Or maybe, they will just make new restrictions that are super-duper secret; So secret we can't even tell you what they are.

Obama is a sore loser and certainly doesn't care a bit about due process or our Constitution. He will do anything he can to circumvent the law just so he can prove that he is "all powerful". His ego knows no bounds!

Wasnt Obama the one that said that "elections had consequences" (well surely that applies to the Congressional elections as well)?

I don't believe that EO's EA's are the same thing people playing semantics with their meanings. If they are so "worthless" what is the point of it all?

Considering the current administration is nothing, but a bunch of yes man stacked all the way down to the DOJ, and BATFE.

Some serious stupidity is going to be going down the chain of command like always with government knows best.

That's why I said if he changes them to Executive Orders then it will be something to get angry about, but for now it appears he is just making it look like he is actually doing something about the situation, when doing nothing at all. Keep in mind he is trying to save face after promising the victims of Newtown he would get something done.

The guns are just a reflection of the authority the US Constitution has granted us.

Obama doesn't want to get rid of guns per se he wants to get rid of the authority the American people have over the politicians.

The point is it allows him to save face and appear that he has done something to "keep his promise" to the victims and people of Newtown after stating he would get something done. And no actions and orders are not the same.

We are the reason he is here, he is not the reason why we are here.

Hes got to go people. Start the impeachment Process.

Trying to strip people of their power and rights over/of the second amendment should not be tolerated.

Govt doesnt grant us authority- we grant them authority, and they are about to get stripped of those powers
-by the people.
