Recent Downtime: THAT WAS ME!!!

The database was getting a bit... uh... stressed. I took the server down brielf to run some quick maintenance and clean-up routines on the tables. The performance should improve somewhat. However, we're still having a massive day... nearly 4,000 posts, and on our way to 200,000 page views. (SIDE NOTE: Our new DeepMetrix reporting service only tracks content pages now, so that's 200,000 actual viewthread/forum/today pages... which is huge.)

That was as quick and easy a fix as a Diebold machine overhauling a vote count!

Running way better now since that downtime. I'm curious to see the reports of volume we've had here over the past 2 days or so. We must have had tremendous numbers from like 8PM all through the night.

Hey, SOMEONE's gotta clean the tables around this joint!

There's a thread were we were all adding our predictions for the millionth, I picked Nov 10. I bet I will be close!

Great, with all this talk of SO cleaning tables, I am never going to be able to get this image of his avatar character working as a busboy out of my head! One good thing did come of it. Assuming the problem was with my computer I chose to re-start it for the first time in about a month. It probably needed it.

The little records at the bottom of the page are now the first things I look at on ATS. Amazing. Thanks for keeping us running.
