An arrest has been made in the Boston bombings investigation based on two videos showing images of the suspect, a federal law enforcement source told CNN's Fran Townsend.

The person was arrested before the news ever got wind of it.

They wouldn't announce it before hand that is not that way LEO works.

There is a federal death penalty. Depending upon the circumstances, the case could be prosecuted by the feds.

that was fast, got an ID and arrested him in less the 5 min. Next they will kill him, fly him to a aircraft carrier and dumb his body in the water with no proof and say its all fixed. There will then be a big rally infront of the white house full of people screaming USA, USA, USA.

The news is moving pretty quickly but it was my understanding that an arrest was "imminent" i was merely stating that it would be highly irresponsible for a law enforcement agency to do this would it not?

They need to post a picture so sweeping generalizations can be made! /facepalm

Right, and I stand corrected (I was going to add this to my post if nobody had posted it). CNN is saying that it was a federal arrest (they have two sources who confirm an arrest).

The were likely in the process of already making the arrest when the story broke to the public.

Thus "imminent".

You didn't think they would tip their hand before they even had him surrounded to pounce, do you?

That would be borderline retardation,just thought it was unusual that reports would call an arrest imminent,either they have him or not of course this was around 10 mins before it had been "confirmed".I just have a horrible feeling of deja-vu about this whole tragedy,especially now with the poison letters sent! feels like 2001 all over again

ahahaha! Yeah the osama thing was all very convenient, well see how this one goes down.

MSNBC is stating that no arrests have been made.

Plus they said Obama is dreamy awesome.

But no arrests as of yet.
