Up here in little old Humboldt county we have had what I thought was a local with a bee in their bonnet so to speak, but our fiber cables were cut again last night. We are small potatoes compared to the national news scene so I can see how it may have been missed.

On 4-17-2013, approximately 4:15 a.m. the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office was notified of another vandalism to Suddenlinks Fiber Optic Cable that had occurred in the area of Lorenz Lane and Old Arcata Road, Bayside. The damaged cable was cut. The unknown suspect(s) used a culvert pipe to stand on to allow them access to the elevated cable. The suspect(s) are believed to have used a cutting instrument to cut the line.

Yes Burntheships, This is the latest in the series of instances. Just to clarify, Bayside is a mostly residential area in Arcata. Some of the previous cut have been done in what would be considered out of the way areas.

Oh, wow. So, this is a way to really interrupt the basic tasks of life,
and it is distrubing to learn also takes out the 9/11 call system.



The fix for the fiber optic cable is not quick, easy or cheap it seems,
I read 25 K for each cut cable...

And now the explosion in Texas, at a fertilizer plant...
I hope and pray this is all a coincidence, but I dont like it one bit.

To sum it up so far, this week we had:

1. A major bombing at a national event
2. A few cases of ricin being sent to the president and senators
3. A massive, devastating fertilizer plant explosion in Texas
4. Another tank explosion in OKC
5. Two separate incidents of sabotage to power/communications in California

And we have just come over the hump this week. The major anniversaries are coming up over the next three days.

I am thinking that someone is working towards large scale panic/disruption and chaos. Fringe groups? Major terror organizations? Government entities, foreign or domestic? Given the fiscal and legislative disasters over the past few months from DC, I am wondering if someone, or many someones, are trying to offer one helpful shove to get it all unraveling quicker?
