Two Explosions at Boston Marathon

The glass panel pointy top one it looks like.

The consulate of Portugal? And the one to the left of uno Chicago grill?

They are kicking the word "terrorist" around as "possible"

First reports suck.(on tv that is).

How can a bomb go off so close to a big event like this? where the hell is our security? maybe it was a gas explosion and not a terrorist act, just doesn't make sense to me.

Reports, ?confused say a second device could be involved at another hotel

So far 4 have been taken to hospital with sustained injuries.

The reporter talking on the news I'm watching is reminding people that we don't know what happened, that there's lots of electrical equip that isn't normally there etc.

Reports are saying that several people lost limbs...

It seems too coordinated to be random but I guess we'll see.

Now Boston police have called all bomb squad and bomb sniffing dogs to the scene to investigate. NY stepping up security as a response.

IMO, if this was planned, whoever did it fits the description of terrorist. Rather domestic or foreign.

I am watching CNN now... (it is 12:35pm) pacific time where I live and they are saying that they do not know what caused the explosions; they are speculating...could it just have been a freak accident? Or...did a person cause it? They just don't know as yet.

I said a BIG PRAYER for everyone there; I heard that a 3 year old boy was hurt and taken away to hospital; and I just lost it; I have been crying on and off ever since.

I don't know anyone in Boston; but all this still really matters to me; I feel connected because those people are my fellow human beings.

All of the extra taxes and the police state measures and still these things happen.
I wonder what new laws will come of this.

2 explosions 15 seconds apart, 3 dead, all train service on lockdown, hotel on lockdown. Could be gas explosions or a terrorist attack.

It's sad that this had to happen, especially on Patriots Day and the Boston Marathon. Looking at how it all happened and where it happened, I say it was a terrorist attack. I hope whoever is responsible gets what they deserve.

One of my former co-workers is there. She and her husband are alright, thank goodness. She runs the Boston Marathon every year. I really hope there aren't more than 3 fatalities. Reuters isn't too helpful on that front, so far. They just keep saying grave injuries.

For the posters a little slow on the uptake, check the time stamps. This thread is the first, therefore it stays. Way to be waggle a finger a day late & a dollar short.

Why would anyone bomb a marathon?? I really hope this is just another gas line blowing. Another looney or a terrorist act would ice up that slippery slope we have in this country even further. I'm tired of people being malicious dicks, and I'm tired of semi-sane people thinking Mother Gubmint's tightening leash can save us.
