This has been posted so many times and it's getting ridiculous. Nobody knows, could be something, probably just someone trying to get a better shot of the marathon.

As well please stop concluding you know the source of the attack being "terrorist'. Nothing is out about any evidentiary trail as yet.

Just judging by the video and the pictures of the first bomb (the one closest to the finish line....Unfortunately I'd have to guess more there was more than 2 fatalities. But the human body can withstand quite a bit of punishment you never know. Let's hope it's only 2.

But looking at the concussive force from that thing, I'm thinking everyone within an 8-10 foot radius of that blast is probably dead or missing both their legs. I'd be VERY suprised if after all is said and done,the casualty count is under 10

Looked very, very bad imo.

Personally I am thinking that the "controlled demolition" simply meant that they were reporting the bomb squad was going to detonate something they found.

Unless someone else comes up with something from earlier in the day that is what I am rolling with. That announcement came just as all this was going on.

Right you are, I was thinking of taking my son 45 miles away to go look at Prom Tux's but will not now. Not tonight.

I would not be surprised to see more explosions across the country.

If this were some form of large scale threat, seems more bombs would be going off by now right?

That makes me think domestic.

In another thread - that has mysteriously disappeared - titled Boston Marathon bombing same as film "4 Lions." an interesting point was made in reference to whether or not bad movies and videos should be banned altogether. In his opening post the author asked this pertinent question:

"I never thought the comedy should have ever been released, but it was, and now a marathon has blown up, should the film be held accountable?"

My answer to the question is YES - and likewise for all horrific slashing/mayhem films (snuff films actually) and all sick violent video games. I am certain that these "Hollywood Zionist" visuals contribute greatly to violence in America and should be severely curtailed if not banned outright because of the general harm that they cause to our society.

BTW - when I was a kid most of this kind of stuff (including porn) was subject to a severe censorship board.

Now, more importantly (to me at least) - While observing intently several television news broadcasts of the Boston Marathon incident I couldn't help but to make a comparison between the similarly horrendous events at Boston MA and Newton CT. I noticed a marked difference between the coverage of these two events, i.e., the coverage of the Boston event as compared to the Sandy Hook event. For example - news broadcasters, police spokespersons, TV commentators, etc., were all behaving as they should have been, i.e., as if the event was really taking place in real time. There was no subterfuge; no secrecy; no confused and incoherent speech coming from those in authority as they stood before the cameras.

Ambulances showed up promptly, and all EMT's and rescue personnel immediately got to work having had full access to the dead and injured in their rescue efforts. They all were very obviously responding to a real event that didn't appear "staged" and that was not being covered in secrecy - the bodies of those killed, along with the injured were all removed to hospitals in the proper manner and not suspiciously under cover of darkness - nor were there strangely placed barriers set up around the incident so as to block everything off from public view, and there were no suspicious staging areas with people milling around doing nothing.

Conclusion - The open coverage of the event at the Boston Marathon is the exact opposite of what we saw at the alleged incident at Newtown CT.

Boston Mayor just made a second statement saying they did NOT have a suspect in custody. So to say it was a Saudi or anyone yet is false.
Such an odd witness statement about bomb dogs at the beginning and end of race.
Ready to hear what Obama has to say in a few minutes.
Condolences go out to Boston.

Of course the source is a terrorist. It's clearly a bombing, designed for terror, therefore: terrorist.

Okay on CNN just now during a press conference this reporter says that there were drills in that area this morning preparing for the SAME THING! Didn't that happen in the London bombings and on 9/11? Yeah. Wreaks to high hell.

I wonder if people who like guns blame the people from Newtown for the crackdown on guns & have decided to take action by setting off a bomb or bombs knowing that the Newtown families would be there ?

There are no-doubt lots of gun clubs about & some right-wing individuals may of thought up the idea, don't think that only Islamists can be can be corrupted, just look what Timothy McVeigh did in the Oklahoma City Bombing.

The only way to stop this is to make the alternative, for those even peripherally involved too costly.

After 9/11 if we had sent Colin Powell to each Middle Eastern country and told them to clean up their own back yards or else they would receive the nuclear alternative, do you seriously think there would be a problem today?

I've been following this story since the very beginning but have refrained from commenting...doing so would be based on pure emotion and that's never a good idea.

I'm still so disgusted though...I'm disgusted that this is the world I live in...At this moment, I'm disgusted and ashamed that I brought two beautiful children into this horrible existence we find ourselves in today. I'm afraid of the future that they will have to endure....I'm truly worried for their future.

I'm disgusted with myself because I know that these atrocities happen all over the world on a daily basis with little attention or emotion devoted to those atrocities that do occur in other countries.

I just saw a picture of a man in a wheelchair with his entire lower leg blown off and it made me swell up in tears....then I remembered....there are victims of this sort of violence all over the world.

Why do we have so much hate for one another? What is wrong with us?

I'm losing faith and maybe that is what "they" want...I don't know.

All I know is that this world...this "civil" world that we live in is reaching a point of no return...at least that's how it feels to me.

My thoughts and prayers for victims in boston and for that matter, all victims of violence everywhere.

President Obama will address the nation at 6:10 Eastern Time and deliver a statement on the bombings.

I did hear CBS say there are victims with lost limbs.

Just acknowledging the code black at the hospital, they had taken patients out but just got the all clear to return them to the ER. They now say because of a suspicious package.

As to this tragedy, hearing 2-3 dead...a couple dozen wounded. But of those wounded, they are pretty bad - just heard on the radio of one person at the event had to use their belt to stop blood loss from a severed leg. He said the leg went right over his head.

Exactly. Daily occurrence pretty much there. But remember, the vast majority of Americans don't consider people in Iraq to be human. They just laugh at those reports and think of it as some kind of video game.
