Kerry, Edwards and their team ran an excellent campaign.

They almost pulled it off, and managed to nearly unseat Bush -- a wartime incumbent -- despite a rather thin and amorphous policy platform.

He came close, but the numbers just weren't there for him, and he did the right thing for himself, his party and his country by conceding, rather than dragging us all into a very unpleasant period of litigation.

I agree with Kerry on just about nothing, but I respect what he managed to accomplish. Here's hoping his path will lead to fulfillment for himself and his family.

John Kerry's concession and his remarks show that he is a true statesman. No recriminations. Acceptance of the outcome. A plea to come together for the good of the country. What a man. What a leader. Kerry in 2008!!!!

So being a good sport and a decent person are the only requirements for being a good leader these days? IMHO that's just not enough. Neither of our "candidates" were worthy of leadership, but that's also just an opinion.
