Gee where I'm from they are quite shy. completely unconfrontational. Has any one ever considered they were being harassed, teased, or maybe they had babies. Any animal will defend their offspring to the death.

I think the scouts that stoned the beaver to death are in the wrong.

They probably trespassed on to the nesting area or something, and the beaver is an animal and protects its area from intruders to protect the babies.

Im just guessing, but at the end of the day animals are just animals they dont know who they are attacking.

A human has the brains to just leave the poor animal alone to survive in nature, not stone it to death.

Unless it did have rabies, which as humans again, they should have had animal rescue come and check whether there was something wrong or if the animal was just stressed for some other reason.
(Like one of the kids had already stoned it once...)
