I have many thoughts about this election:

Fisrt of all, coming from Mexico who happened to have the MOST corrupt electoral body on earth till 1996 and lasted for 70 years.
I always wondered how is that these bastards (the Instituional Revoilutionary party) won by a landslide? I whatched them sweep elections, and people were jobless, in Mysery, sick , with a poverty level not even worthy of a third world country....!
I ALWAYS WONDERED, then the change in th eelectoral college came and its now recognized in the world that the Mexican electoral system is one of the most advanced (So advanced that the US and the U.N. brought the Iraqui electoral college to Mexico to copy our system and to be trained for the upcoming January elections)

The the Instituional Revoilutionary party won so many elections because of lies, tax cuts and handovers and basically feeding people with TV soap operas and ignorance, also people had like Inertia (..I always vote like this so Ill continue)...

Well GWB won because of the popular vote,I dont care about states or anything BOTTOM line he has the support of the majority of the US voters, why dont the US forsake this weird scheme and go to the popular vote count is beyond me, so in a way if you live in a bigger state (electorally wise) your vote counts more than ..say hawai !!!

As I predicted some weeks ago today there is beetween 48 and 49% pissed Us citizens because the guy they voted for lost....Bush a Uniter?

some say that we non Us citizens dont have any bussines in the election AND YOU ARE RIGHT but the US policies affects all the world.

Canada and Mexico for example would be greatly affected by the US jingoistic policies and economic backtrack, and if the dollar continues to sink so will our economies, and if there is a Bankrupcy in the States because of the deficit we all go drown the drain.
Mexico now has a probable presidential candidate that is quite dangerous, he is a certified Wacko and a fascist ( QUIET LIKE NORIEGA or CHAVEZ in VENEZUELA) do you think the US will not do anything to stop this guy to get to power in 2006?
Do you think GWB will stop at anything to stop a guy who can stops selling 2.5 million barrels a day and millions of BTUS in natural gas to the US?
what would happen (GOD FORBID) if athere is an attack and its discovered the perpetrators entered the US by the south OR NORTH border? do you think GWB will not invade to "ensure national US security?

If you think the election of the US president has no repecutions on the world Think again...
one thing is sure, you will have to endure criticism from the outside of the US for 4 more years, a war in Iraq for maybe longer and higher inflation.
Me in the mean time will change my savings to Euros since the dollar now is cheap, and move away from my ties to the US economy call it cowardly but I have worked my a$$ for 15 years to see it down the drain because some Invasion of a middle east country.

And while they have their asses bent over in sheer confidence the world is going to be nodding their heads and rolling their eyes because they know the record bush has built in the previous 4 yrs, and they know what his record will continue to be built on.

Being duped by the bush administration in the past should of set a precendence but hell no, how can you see what's going on when you got your head in the dirt and your butt in the air because he's part of your party.

using personal tradegies to be used in his campaign, sending troops in iraq for his own personal agenda, using god as part of his campaign when clearly he is a godless mother #er. it's just sickening.

They aren't laughing, they are worried Bush will cause a nuclear war. He is invading countries because god tells him, blames the people who told him not to when it turns out it was a bad move, then threatens the world by killing the economy, killing off alliances, and basically becoming hated. Several countries have declared Bush a War Criminal, including Japan.(So you can't say, "Well, it's just the nations like Yemen or Iran.") Also, who is next? Iran and other countires with oil hate Bush because they know he wants to invade them. The rest just hate Bush because he invades countries for this reason, switches that, switches again, then switches, switches, then finally blames the people who told him not to invade for the screw up. Damn it, those provisional ballots better make Kerry win, would love that, Kerry gives up, Bush thinks he has won, then bam, provisional ballots are counted and Bush loses.

We're probably much more experienced as nations and what happens when we're dumb enough to seriously screw with each other and attempt to dominate and how short-term all that nonsense is anyway, yes.

......and as for space? We do plenty of the profitable space stuff.

We don't go a bundle on the manned stuff but even there we now have plenty of our people that been into space.....we just let the US and Russia spend the fortunes necessary making it kind of safe-ish and hitch a ride there.

I don't consider myself an expert on the domestic politics of other nations.

I try to stay informed, keep track of who the leaders are and the major issues facing other nations, but I cannot imagine that I am better suited to make political decisions for them than their respective populations are.

Moreover, I don't have any way of actually changing the political situation in any nation other than my own, so kibbitzing them is pointless. Rather, I try to understand what factors lead them to make the choices they do, and respect their right to do so.

If people of every nation somehow saw fit to see things this way, perhaps we would get along better with one another.

Then maybe you'd understand why a huge chunk of the world hate you, another huge chunk laugh at you, and the final chunk are left staring in open-mouthed disbelief at your rampant paranoia and stupidity.

Gee, it's hard to understand why Americans behave the way we do, in light of heartwarming sentiments such as these.

Indeed, why should we be so insular when fine company such as this awaits us just outside our borders?

I can't think of anything more appealing than exposing myself to abuse and insult at the hands of pretentious, self-inflated bigots, yet somehow I'm strangely repulsed by the idea.

Must be that American ignorance raising its ugly head -- ignorance being a lifetime curse for a backward, provincial, hillbilly caricature such as myself.

And God forbid that any American should hold himself as equal to -- let alone superior to -- those whose deportment is so gracious and humble.
