Never apologize for being American!

Screw the other countries - they only envy us. We are the greatest country in the world even with our faults. We are not perfect but I've traveled and lived in most European countries and parts of Asia - we are the best.

Other countries do understand that we have more freedoms than they do and they don't like it.

If everyone hates us we must be doing something right!

Does this mean Saddam, Bin Ladin and Hitler did too?

This attitude right here scares me. I know this isn't the attitude of the average American Joe, rather someone completely blinded by arrogance.

It's interesting to me how polarised this question is. Hate spewing back and forth. If you hate someone because of their particular race, you are a racist. I'm sure there's a term for those that hate people for their nationality as well, and I see an awful lot of it right here.

I don't laugh at the US, I don't hate it, I don't pity it. I am confused though. To me it seems that USA could do a lot better than having Bush at the helm, but hey, that's how it is. Lately I've been doing alot of reading into the books by Michael Moore. Interesting fellow that. The more I read the less convinced about him I feel. To me it's all starting to look like a personal hate agenda. He hates Bush. He tells people to not vote acccording to thier beliefs. To not vote for a candidate but rather against another. This does not make sense to me.

I think George W Bush is too confrontational for my taste. And using the word Crusade about the war on terror has a seriously bad ring in my ears.

Honestly I'm more worried about what will happen to the world when reading this thread than of Bush running the US. He seems the kind of guy you either hate or love, America seems to be the kind of country most either hate or love. (I do neither). At least by looking at this thread it seems clear that this is the case. So my worry is what hate will cause the world to suffer. The hate, arrogance, and unforgiving traits of the common person is what's dangerous. I suppose Deny Ignorance fits here and it's about the best slogan I've ever heard.

O.k... Maybe Michael hates Bush, but there is a lot of truth in what he says (but americans don't wanna see it!) You should research other stuff than Micheal Moore's to see that a lot of other made researches about USA corrupted government. And you put everything together and yes, it makes sens
Google search a bit
Bilderberg
Trilateral commission
Skulls and bones
Paperclip project
MJ-12
Montauk project
and that will lead you to other subjects like that...........

Americans, are so proud of their country that even if it turned NAZI they would support it, they are a bit blind....they would kill for their patriotism and proudness, but like every nation who went on top (Egyptians, greeks, romans, germans, england....) they always come down

I don't hate them...I just try to understand why they are like that!

Amelia, I finally figured you out!!!

You've been blinded by Micheal Moore and his socialistic oppinionated view points.

All I have to say is Micheal Moore doesn't really know whats going on in the US. I know you will disagree with me on this but you have to be objective when you read his books, see his movies, etc.

No, I and no other Americans would ever support a NAZI party, that is obsurd.

You should try reading less..... extreme.... authors to get a true viewpoint on the US. Only trying to help.

LostSailor

P.S. maybe you should look into what casued those great nations like the romans, greeks, etc. to fall. Maybe then you may also understand why I think morality in our government is indeed needed.

Hey, navigationally challenged seafarer ...

I would like to commend you on the entertainment value in the non sequitur presented in these statements of yours. Perhaps as an alternative to the cause and effect model you present, it is similar factors present in previous empires that may lead to the economic and social collapse of an American one.

"Morality" and "moral values" indeed.

Maybe those of you who are not American can go explain to your compatriots that this is the THIRD ELECTION in America that was obviously FIXED LIKE A HORSE RACE, and we the American people had practically nothing to say about the outcome.

Please tell your friends, America's spirit is dead. No one will speak up in front of Congress or the President or the Judiciary, that they knew the (s)election was fixed.

It's very sad.

Internal strife and division? They grew too large and tried to encompass and envelop too many cultures at once. Forcing one's culture and morals on another have never worked for long nor will it ever.

Sorry but I did my OWN researches WAY BEFORE Micheal Moore did all his stuff...I might be young but I've always had questions in my mind and I always try to find answers....I'm not just a young babe with boobs, I'm a curious person and What I don't beleive I don't take and what I beleive I buy it. When I was unemployed I searched old books at the librairie, I searched the web for weeks to understand why americans are "like that" and when Moores got his stuff out, I did not learn a thing, I knew everything.....Any way dude, that is YOUR problem if you don't wanna search further than your nose and u watch FOX news propaganda.

So the gist of what everyone is saying, and please correct me if I am wrong here, is that: the rest of the world is angry, sad, confused, hurt, & disenchanted with America's president, congress, judiciary, foreign policy, economy, election process, media, environmental policy, military, & people.

Wow...well is there anything you do like?

Serious question here, not sarcasm.

Very dangerous and I knew it was coming. National Security Threat as well using basic common sense. Islamic jihadists can pose as hispanics of course you are trained to believe you are a racist if you think this way thus you are unable to make any critical judgements about this matter.

Remember the incident in Dallas Tx just a few days ago,,,automatic(machine gun) war with DFW police.(hispanic gang members) Sure they work harder for less but they are also tougher and can be meaner as well. Considering how limited the american citizen is having arms(legally) you sure you want to take this route?
This is a train heading for disaster. (A censorship will prove me right) careful ATS mods. Think it out carefully.

Unlike partisan liberals I dont see America as a your vote or my vote situation, I look at is as an American and this was a American choice and therefor if your American your part of the process. If you don't like the process or the results maybe your to sensitive to be voting on issues this important in the first place.

I hate to burst your bubble but, as an American ( which I am) and as a voter ( which I have been since the age of 18 in 1976), it is my right to vote for whom ever I choose and it is also my right to voice my opposition to the person elected into the oval-office of the white house, it is also my right to say if I voted for the jack-a$$ that is in office right now or not. There is nothing wrong with the way marge stated her post, she did not vote for Bush and that does not make her un-american for saying so.
Just as I did not vote for the man so my hands are clean and I will feel no guilt for anything Bush does,............ I will only feel sad and sorry for those innocent civilians that are being maimed and killed in the wars that Bush starts and feel sad and sorry for our troops and their families.

Do I think the world is laughing at America ????? Yes and No ! Yes they are laughing at the President and his illogical thoughts, speaches, and the way he leads our country, they are more than likely laughing and thinking that the Americans that voted Bush back into office are foolish,............ who could blame them if they are thinking like this,............. I don't . The reason I don't think they would be laughing at us is because, there are the rest of us American citizens that tried to get Bush out of Office in Nov., and I beleive they feel sorry for" us" that tried our damnest to vote Bush out.
As for me, I didn't vote for Bush as I said before, even though he sits in the white house,......... I do not claim him, I've washed my hands of the mess, take the prozac that I am now on ( thanks to G W Bush stupidity ) due to depression, hopelessness and dread that I had been feeling , which the medicine has helped me by freeing me of these feelings and cares to where I don't actually give a darn anymore
. I feel good even though I know were all screwed for the next four years

Okay, then. Speaking as an Englishman i can tell you most of us look down upon Bush and what he stands for.

No doubt they're laughing at ass, they always have and they always will. They do worse things than laugh though, but all I do is smile because for all their shouting, yelling, and screaming, and crying, it ammounted to nothing and the American people still voted for the candidate of their choosing.
