It's like gun owners just cover their ears and eyes.

Do you people not understand they are not trying to take guns but are trying to make it harder for criminals...etc...to get guns.

It is so freaking easy to get guns in America..that it is pathetic. You can b*tch and moan when someone goes on a killing spree gun owners..since you enjoy making it easy for criminals to get guns.

Criminals want guns..private seller, steal from law abiding citizen..internet, gun shows...hell it's America...its not hard to get one.

funny, none of the proposed laws, and none of the recently passed laws make it any harder for criminals to get guns....

i mean, how do you not understand that CRIMINALS don't give a fig about the legality of their actions?....CRIMINALS, by definition are those who disregard, and do not obey the law....new laws will not deter CRIMINALS from getting whatever they want, be it guns, grenades, drugs, child porn, or whatever other things they want, regardless of their legal status.

why do you guys ALWAYS resort to the "its to stop the bad guys", or the "it's for the children" arguments? they're so patently false, and obvious bulls**t...they don't work...but then again, i suppose you don't have anything better, that isn't useless personal opinion...

if more regular citizens were armed, and properly educated, there would be less sprees...there would be random acts of violence, thwarted by citizens...instead of 20 dead, and 30 wounded, you'd have a handfull or less dead and wounded.....

but if you wanna keep ignoring reason, that's your choice...but i implore you; please do it elsewhere...

So yeah this idiot is one of the people who claims to be on your side. Talking about assassinating the president and vice president.

Nothing blood thirsty about that gun owner..

…says “Kerrr-azeeee-Sicko” with the emo-angst ‘Angel of Death’ avatar, which all but screams:
“Behold, what a dark, tortured-soul I am, Mom!
You can't understand me!
No one understands me!

But … can I still borrow the minivan?

See, the ad-hominem game can go both ways! So much easier than intelligently debating -- You might be onto something, kiddo!

The person you were calling a troll was replying to a member who said "There is 2 things that I would get great pleasure in using my gun to do and I cant say them because it would be in violation of the TC of the site as well as probably illegal to say but lets just say it involves biden and his friend in black they both deserve it"

actually...if you go actually read the thread, you'll find that he started his idiotic nonsense, before the person you claim he was responding to, said anything.

and nobody said ALL gun owners were immune to running their mouth...but then again, we still have the right to have an opinion, and state it publicly.....

How many people on this site alone are gun nuts because they think it's cool? Now imagine the rest of the country.

Ugh, I hate Americans sometimes.

How many people on this site are willing to cede sovereignty to the "authorities" for their own personal protection out of a false belief they are somehow more secure if they (the authorities) are the only ones armed?

Ugh, I hate non-Americans sometimes.

yet another thread for the cowardly gun owner crowd to say the same things over and over. Save some time and copy and paste.

Can't even mention guns on the left without people thinking their manhood is being stripped away.

It seems to me that someone who wishes to use the coercive power of government to disarm his fellow citizens is the true coward.

it hurts the mind, reading it, doesn't it?

asserting that a love of guns equates to a love of murder and killing, is like asserting that a love of alcohol equates to a love of liver disease...it's completely fallacious, shows a disturbing gap in people's critical, and logical thinking skills, and demonstrates quite clearly just how badly some people's brains are misfiring these days...

it's really kinda scary to see just how bad off people are, when it comes to being equipped with the mind tools to process logic, and separate their opinion and fantasy from reality....

I think what we are seeing is the psychological thing known as projection where people push their own violent tendencies upon others. When they accuse gun owners of these things, they are actually giving us a window into their own minds and emotions. When they say that gun owners will go crazy and kill random people, what they are saying is that is exactly what they would do given the opportunity.

Just my humble opinion, of course, but is perhaps the problem merely that we are not communicating to them in their native language?

For instance, the anti-gun (nuts) seem more betterwise able to crimestop due to their doubleplusgood upsub duckspeak.

Doublethink:

[font=Georgia]The power of holding two contradictory beliefs in one's mind simultaneously, and accepting both of them...
[color=#c2bcf5]To tell deliberate lies while genuinely believing in them, to forget any fact that has become inconvenient
, and then, when it becomes necessary again, to draw it back from oblivion for just as long as it is needed, [color=#c2bcf5]to deny the existence of objective reality and all the while to take account of the reality which one denies – all this is indispensably necessary.

Even in using the word doublethink it is necessary to exercise doublethink. For by using the word one admits that one is tampering with reality; by a fresh act of doublethink one erases this knowledge; and so on indefinitely, with the lie always one leap ahead of the truth.

No you're wrong. A gun nut is a person who thinks that banning guns will solve the problem. Some people already know this but since most seem clueless I will tell you. NEVER IN THE HISTORY OF MAN FROM THE DAWN OF TIME HAS THEIR EVER BEEN A LAW PASSED OR BAN PUT IN PLACE THAT PREVENTED ANY CRIME OF ANY KIND ANYWHERE EVER... The fact is that if a person is going to commit a crime their very act is proof that they don't care about the law. This means that the only people who are affected by adding more laws are the ones who were NOT the problem in the first place. On top of all that why is it that the only laws passed these days are ones where they start out with making people afraid of something. They spend millions on ads telling you what to fear and who's to blame. Just look at the past for the real facts. Alcohol was banned and the number of people drinking it went up 18% in the first year. From it we got our first mob boss, and a sharp rise in the murder rate. Drugs were banned and today an estimated 87% of Americans use one type of drug or another. The drinking age was raised from 18 to 21 and today 3 out 5 teens get drunk at least twice a month from booze stolen from their parents or sold to them buy someone who, again, does not care about the laws. Bottom line, with any law you will always have those who will use it make money. So I think we should punish those who commit crimes and leave the rest us alone. To do this all we have to do if enforce the laws we have, and make the punishment fit the crime, and stop caring about the feelings of those who don't give a rats a## about those they rob or kill or the affect it has on their family and friends. In short, IF YOU TAKE A LIFE YOU FORFIT YOUR OWN...

You ignored my point about the silent majority. You are taking a handful of people and making a generalization about a significant population in the US. Compared to those guys, you look the same to me. Someone who is treating the situation irrationally with emotional responses. The hatred and threats, both physical and otherwise, that I hear from both the extreme left and extreme right are about on par with each other. What's funny is they are the vocal minority. My point about you making generalizations stands.

I'm reminded of a time when I got to speak with a friend of my grandfather. My family is British (I'm the first US citizen in the family) but his friend was a German businessman who fled Germany after the war. This particular German business man recalled that in the early 30s, the vast majority of people in Germany didn't give much attention to the Nazi party, or any party for that matter. He told me all it took was for the vocal minority to have the will to show up and make stuff happen when the every day person had neither the desire, nor the need to do anything except live their lives as they always had. He told me it was in an extremely short period of time that these people that he had only heard in passing and didn't pay much mind to were now pretty much completely in control of the country and he now had to pay attention to new mandates made by these people he hadn't really heard much about. He said "My collegues and I would say "those Nazis are lunatics, no one could possibly take them seriously" and then wham, they had the reins.

Right or left, I'm worried about the vocal minority exerting their will over the silent majority. Especially if it is through a knee-jerk reaction that is supported only with opinion and is looking to disregard the law of the land to achieve party policy. The door swings both ways, right or left.

Hey i call it like i see it. The problem is your fellow gun owners with the rambo complex, that give normal gun owners ( you know) the ones who dont brag about there arsenals, dont make snide comments like he shoulda had a bigger caliber a bad name. Posting countless pro gun pics, countless pics of your guns, or updating im going to the gun range everyday on facebook doesn't help your cause with the anti gun crowd. They see that as obsessiveness and insecurity but continue to do it. Yes its those gun owners i have a problem with

some people like cars, others like model airplanes, and some people love guns as a hobby. people don't have a problem with others showing of their custom cars, mods they had installed, and "bragging" about all the horsepower, so why are gun enthusiasts treated differently?

if i post a picture of me driving am i "pro car" *sinister undertone*. i've even raced cars through obstacle courses before, it was a blast! is my mentioning that fact "bragging"? do i think i'm jeff gordon? no.

the anti gun crowd has a right to their opinion, but they will only have a right to their opinion if guns stay in the hands of citizens.

If you want a gun, and would refuse to turn it in if gun laws change, you're a gun nut.

Proud "gun nut" here. I tend to simply ignore laws that are illegal to begin with, and any law requiring a "turn in" would be in direct contravention of the Second Amendment, a law already in place. This, of course, would make the contravening law illegal.

I suppose I stand in good company in holding that opinion. If it were not for others sharing it, "America" would still be "The Colonies", and we would still be bowing, scraping, and tugging our forelocks at the British Crown. BECAUSE some old fogies a long time ago decided to ignore such repressive schemes as gun confiscation, their efforts gave birth to a new nation.

When the British decided that dissent among the masses had gone quite far enough, they decided that disarming those masses was a prudent thing to do. To that end, the British began seizing arsenals and magazines at various locations to disarm the people. The magazine at Williamsburg was one that was seized, and the arsenal at Concord was another that was attempted to be seized. The populace had a different plan, and met the approaching disarmament troops on the village green in Lexington. the rest is history, as they say.

Let's hope that some sort of sanity seizes our current government in their efforts to follow the Brits of old. We don't really need a second shot heard round the world, but by God it'll come if they don't lay off.
