This is unexpected IMO from a Beaver. The attack was filmed (though it doesn't show the gruesomeness). Dont 'Leave it to Beaver'
Be careful as the warm weather is breaking in US and folks out camping/hiking etc. Beware of the Beaver

A fisherman has been bitten to death by a beaver after trying to take its photograph.

The man was on a fishing trip at Lake Shestakov in Belarus with two friends when they spotted the animal on the side of the road.

He stopped so that he could take a picture but as he approached the beaver it pounced on him, biting him in the thigh.

His friends attempted to stem the flow of blood from the wound but the animal’s bite had severed a main artery and the man, who came from Brest, bled to death.

Beaver attacks are rare and according to experts those animals that do go for humans are usually rabid.

.... i know one word comments are not acceptable so alow me to ramble for a full sentence here.
Good, . Now all I have to say is. WTF?
EDIT: Okay... 2 people were also mauled by beavers in a Virginia lake? My entire childhood has been a lie. I really loved the furry, friendly beaver with my whole heart. I hate him now.

Did you see that thing run? man? That just was not right.

OMG- Rabid beaver attacks woman for 20 mins while she is minding her own business, swimming.

These beavers look to be a serious problem. I am not opposed to genocide after what I have learned about the habits of beaver this morning.

"illian Peterson was knocked off her feet as she got out of Lake Barcroft on Tuesday evening and turned round to see the two-foot animal biting her leg.

She and a friend repeatedly hit the beaver using canoe paddles, a walking stick and their bare hands but it refused to let go of her leg, the Washington Post reported.

Ms Peterson even tried to gouge the animal in its eyes with her stick in a desperate attempt to fend it off."

Why does the Beaver have to die because it was doing something nature intended it to?? I hate humans! They do this all the time. Always killing things they don't understand. Only species in the world that destroys it's own environment.....yeah we're so clever! R.I.P Beaver

Well with all the cutting down trees, they have nothing to bite.

Any wild animal can be dangerous.

People seem to forget that when they come into contact with a wild animal. I recall stories of tourists, happening to see a couple of lions in Africa, that got out of their cars to say "cute little lion, looks just like my cat", and guess what happened to them....

A wild animal will either see you as prey, or as their predator, or the predator of their offspring. Well, if it sees you as prey, good luck. If it sees you as its predator, it will either flee, or fight to protect either itself or its young. And then there are the animals that has rabies, and they are totally unpredictable.

Bottom line is, a wild animal is not your friendly pet dog/cat/rabbit, but they need to do what they do to survive. Understand that, and respect that, and learn their habits, then you won't have a problem.

Perhaps this is why the guys at Duck Dynasty go beaver hunting with AR-15's and dynamite? lol.... Really though, I'd have to agree with others on wild animals. They can all be vicious and dangerous. Who'd believe a deer, of all things, could attack a full grown adult and actually do serious damage? Bambi can be a real bad lady to piss off, indeed.

Still..when I think of dangerous Beaver, this isn't quite what traditionally comes to mind. (Oh..c'mon..I had to ..lol)

opposable thumbs folks!
This is just one tool that puts us at the top of the food chain.
These, our brains, and our tools.
I have never been torn to shreds by any animal nor have I ever feared it, why??
Because when I step into the wild I am always armed to the teeth!
When even the largest of animals hear a muzzle crack, they run off.
If that does not work, then finish the job.
It is dangerous in the wild folks, be a good scout and obey the motto, "Always be prepared"!
Note: the wild does not always have to be in a forest, sometimes there are skyscrapers in the wild.

This reminds me of another story a year or two ago.
Gordon Ramsay had a midget porn look alike who was eaten by badgers.
They found him naked and chewed up in the badgers warren.
...
....
...sorry

It's kinda poor taste to laugh at someones death but sometimes they're funny though.
