I just went thru the entire thread to confirm my suspicions...
And I'm right. Not one person is talking about the same thing...
Peace
Be that as it may Jude. Look how many different subjects you were exposed to, in this one thread alone.....
This is a multi-tasking thread, if I've ever seen one......

He's just doing his job, Des.

They make dishwashers that aren't under the counter?
Could you please provide pics? I'm fascinated to see how this works.

Here ya go, Ghostie!
You'll have to ask g146541 (thanks, by the way) how it works,
but there it is and its quite beautiful.
It has an LED display.
Don't you agree?
Just do a little carpentry and instal it under the counter in place of a cupboard. Wait till she is out and surprise her. One of two things will happen.
She will treat you real special and you will get some. or
She will go frosty for a week or so.
It is just like tossing a coin, you win some, you lose some

Or #3
You will be in trouble for taking the cupboard space, and hear for years what a bad job you did on the installation.
You can NEVER win.
I prefer to hand wash them since I never understood the whole you must wash them before putting them in the dishwasher.
