I don't know if it's a prank or if there's some sort of crazy caterpillar inside of there, but that is a weird plant nonethe less.
Are there any botanists here who could identify the species or why this is happening?

There's a slight breeze.
The plants in front of it movement increases and decreases, coinciding with the 'moving' plant's motion.

It IS "that time of year"... If the plant's a'rockin, don't come a'knockin!

I would guess a bug inside.

Could it be a type of carnivorous plant which has gobbled up a bee/bug?
Although it doesn't look like any carnivorous plant I have seen.
Weird.

That guy should be carefull where he shoots when he's in there. He might kill the invisible swordsman.

But, seriously, I think it might be harmonic vibrations from the breeze, even if it is a slight breeze.

To me, it looks like the kind of movement I've seen in my own yard, when an underground rodent/gopher is digging away at the roots. They chew the roots off to take back to their nests in tunnels.

Here ya go...Mole eating plants roots...same movement...

jmoho....

From what I've seen of the video it appears to me the leaf is curving (or rather creased) slightly backwards, and is catching the wind in such a way the it rocks to and fro.

If no one else has said it, that is a gopher eating the root, that is what we look for when we kill the poor critters.

Irf they like the leaf sometimes they will eventually pull the whole plant down under the ground... disappears in a flash!

Very unusual. Dancing plant. How cool!

Some of the plants in the background are moving, so it does appear there is a slight breeze.

There could be an animal underground causing it to move.

The trees in my yard sometimes do this. One is moving while the others aren't.
Some plants do sort of move on their own.

Looks like some type of bulb plant, but not sure.

It's the "metronomis allegros."
It is rarely seen relative of the "metronomis adagios," which sways slowly.

I saw a video years ago of something similar. It was a rodent underground pulling and moving the plant.

I'm off to work now but I will try to find it later.

I know what that is.

Its the rare metronomis bullcrapitis which is harmless and some what humorous. Its not to be confused with the not so rare trollalotashillus bullcrapitis which is completely indigestible and quit often poinsonous.

good video made me smile thanks

As a person who feeds birds, and assorted wildlife that goes along with it, I have always wanted to see a pocket gopher do just that.
The "nuisance" animals that drop by our feeder are caught in a Hav-a-Heart trap and released in a local park.
Near an owl.
I figure if they can't make it in the wild, at least they will not be wasted.
