No, all of this because we don't know what to expect. When you don't know what to expect, you can't rule anything out. If the 'test' is an excuse and he aims it somewhere... No matter how you look at it, the time for talking this out will pass and it will end badly.

We know he has chemical weapons, missiles and nukes. We don't know if he's going to launch anything at anyone, but he has some very powerful allies and will defend him if and when this comes to blows. If the Pentagon is taking it seriously, I think we need to pay attention... it isn't about testing weapons anymore.

As long as Nk keep it to conventional warheads the US will not go nuclear. Simply, they can't. Both Russia and China will not allow it. That is right on the doorstep to both countries. Will not happen. It opens the door for any country to use Nukes. The first response (if it was not a massive launch by both Russia and China against the US) would be Russian Nukes in Iran just waiting for the US to come in.

Even if North Korea did not keep it conventional the Allies would still not use nuclear weapons. Even if North Korea got off a nuke or two onto the south the Allies would still show restraint and not go nuclear.

This statement is laughable. It would take very few Nuclear missiles to put every square inch of North Korea's surface in the 100% kill zone. The few humans that would remain alive underground would make the country akin to the skeletal remnants of a misbehaving child.

The MOP (Massive Ordnance Penetrator) is a 30,000lb bomb that will penetrate through 41m of rock. Even his deepest bunkers are estimated at 80m, so two of these would do the job. Oddly enough, a B-2 carries two of them.

And that is if we take tactical nukes (which are designed to bust bunkers) out of the equation. This is using strictly conventional weapons.
