The single most shocking thing I have learned is that "smart people", and most others, actually don't understand much at all - they have only memorized other people's understandings.

This is a valid statement.... I had to think back about some threads I've been in.... I couldn't agree more...

There is smart (Common Sense) and book smart... Nay have I found the inbetween...... And people think we don't notice or remember that line that was stolen from a threader 2 months back~

That is a very good way to put it.

My way sounded too detached, even though I did not mean myself excluded.

Counting down the top 10 things I've learned here on ATS:

10. Never quote Alex Jones

9. Don't evade the automatic censors

8. All politicians are evil except for Ron Paul

7.Always carry duct tape

6.Des is AWESOME!

5.I want to eat at Mblah's house

4. Heff is the "Go To" guy for all things "Voodoo"

3. Learn to recognize Bernard and call him out!

2. Don't feed the trolls

........and the number ONE thing I have learned on ATS is...... PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!!!

I don't know what Mblah's house is, but I want to eat there too. Does Mblah do Vegitarian?

Had to quote your full list...All true...

I would have written the same apart from Mblah's house, because I don't know it,

So I would add 1 thing.

Number 1. Don't get drunk and Post a Thread that may offend people. Think before you post.

And 2. Experience is the best teacher.

And 3, Google is your friend. (double-left-click on the word.) + (When marked, right click menu-choose "search google for"(Insert keyword here)"" ) = Denying Ignorance^(Not just for spelling.)

And 4. Folks on ATS are people, like you, sitting in a room. Sometimes it's like this:

sometimes its like this;

But it's always fascinating. Insert tinfoil hat here;

When ATS went down I had just started actively posting (it takes a year).

I learned then that

a) I am addicted to ATS,

b) so are other people

c) they are nice.

d) that we are all wonderfully different

e) that we are one ATS, even when there is no ATS

f) anyone who doesn't think so is entitled to their opinion

As well as "voodoo" Heff also has a fine taste in music, beer, women and conflict resolution. And mascara.

Granny, you are a super-star.

I choose my friends wisely....

We have to learn stuff here? Awwwwww crud! I thought I was coming to this website to get the demons OUT of my head
Anyway, what have I learned from ats? I'm not the only one with demons in my head
also, there are some incredibly creative, passionate, articulate, scared, cruel, soulless, happy, silly, sage, brave, lonely, crushed, indomitable people who frequent this site, and good enough for me.

I have leaned a lot of ATS since my short time here.

1# The site is great at taking care of hoaxes and what not. But I wish we could have more discussion on cryptozoology, aliens & UFO's, and what not.

2# There are many users who are either religious and/or spiritual. Not my cup of tea but it is interesting to see what people believe in their lives.

3# My debating skills have improved.

4# I learned to research my topics.

5# It is always good to be the devil's advocate.

6# Not everyone is going to agree with or like you. However, you can still be successful.

7# Different topics are more or less popular

8# The forum is great at expressing ideas through images, video, and written content.

Hi sulaw,

I am going to keep this fairly simple

What i have learned here on ATS (Or should i say what has strengthened an already existing part of me is the following simple phrase) :

TOLERANCE AND RESPECT

Otherwise, i have also learned not to eat a full cold can of heinz baked beans just to post to a members thread! Mrs Rodinus will never forgive me after the storm we had here the day before yesterday!

Thanks for your U2U by the way

Kindest respects

Rodinus

So true, I love hearing about the spiritual aspects of all walks of life. Sure some do seem far-fetched but hey, I believe in some crazy stuff too~ Thanks for posting ^_^

1. Many people blame America for everything that has ever happened. ever. See that caveman that was killed 87 million years ago, not saying it's America but it's America.

2. People here like their acronyms..TPTB, MSM, POTUS , etc..

3. The lunatic fringe out there have some great novels posted about stargates in the sun and other things.

4. Phage is phamous.

5. Some people see every event as a false flag and refuse to believe that random events of chaos can actually take place.

1 : I once did a fart noise in church in Ireland when i was a mere kid of 7 years old... never to be done again i can assure you... i got my head kicked in by the vicar!

2 : i have never been sucked off by a carrot milk shake (sorry Mods, just had to put the quip in... grins sheepishly)

3 : Isn't Elbow macaroni made from knees? That's what WarJohn told me!

4 : Heff also likes stockings and suspenders from what i can gather

5 : Go to 4

6 : Yes they do... have you ever watched Sponge Bob?

7 : Have you ever worked in a research lab? Draize tests do wonders on Bunnies and as well as making the bunniy cry also get PETA going nuts too!

8 : No ice for me please if you care

9 : No comment... stick that bloke in the place of the poor bunnies that have to undergo the Draize test!

10 : I have no idea what you are talking about but here is my banana split contribution :
