Polls and what you do.

I clicked onto my local news site and i saw a poll and realized,I am being played.
Here is the news piece.

The poll is,have you been following the Luka Magnotta case?

Options for answers are....Yes.
No.
Somewhat.

If i saw the poll then why ask me...I obviously clicked on the article??
Why ask a dumb question and put a "poll" to see if I am checking it out??
I clicked the article and saw the poll......REALLY????

Why would i answer such a dumb question if i read the article...obviously I have been following it and the people who answer NO clicked the same article,hence they are following it as well.
Why even ask such a dumb question if someone already clicked the link to the article and saw the poll.......you stupid media douchebags??

If this needs to be tossed into the rant section then do it.

Actually they're not stupid at all.
Of course they dont care about the results of the "survey", they just want you to answer it.
Why?
The same reason that radio stations want you to text them or call in.
The same reason lots of companies now have a facebook page.

Interaction.
Every time you do something to interact with them, you psychologically reinforce your own relationship with them.
