It's not complicated at all, the rules here have been constant for quite awhile now and they include the following:

Doing so will result in removal of your Post(s) and immediate termination of your account.

Political Baiting: You will not engage in politically-charged rhetoric, politically-inspired name-calling, and related right-versus-left political bickering while Posting in any topical forum or discussion thread on the Websites. You will not alter political candidate names or party affiliations in order to insult or deride the opposition.

16) Behavior: You will not behave in an abusive, libelous, defamatory, hateful, intolerant, bigoted and/or racist manner, and will not harass, threaten, nor attack anyone.

These are the rules everyone agreed to when they joined.

There are an infinite number of ways to disagree with politicians, positions, parties, governments, etc. without violating the letter or the spirit of those rules. I've said this before... it's not what people say that causes problems for the most part - it's how they choose to say it.

I think some people on here think we should all have their nice politically correct hive mind.
I had to laugh at Other Side Of The Coins rant about the Thatcher threads.He says that it isnt socially acceptable to celebrate her death,lol.
I personally think if you look at the majority of peoples replies to her death that it is perfectly socially acceptable,infact it's the norm.
Personal message me some of jokes,I could do with a laugh.

She was not averse to such an economically profitable mindset. Poll tax was by no means at true tax on the wealthy.

A perfect way to sum up what I have been saying I don’t have a problem with people expressing a view that they disagreed with her politics and as such will not mourn her death my issue is the way some members are choosing to express such a view.

Personally I think it is natural. I can understand why it is against forum rules to be hateful but where is the line drawn with vulgarity? How long does a person have to be dead before ATS can laugh? Is it a case of it being too soon? Or is it because it is an individual and not a collective?

Surely people here have celebrated winning a war? Many more people have died in those circumstances and often with a lot more suffering.

No-one ever make a Nazi joke? Or poke a bit of fun at the KKK? No limerics about Osama or funny pictures of Kimmy? Nothing?

Not one tidbit of humour in this otherwise miserable world?

I was on the other thread that was closed,and posted a few times with much the same

as what you have said. I live in the North and don't believe I'm living in the same part of the

country as some of the other venomous post's on there! My sister in laws family were

miners from a small village, and the pits in the area were closed down but she is always

saying they've never been so well off?

I'm just sad that she died... peacefully. Seriously, if anyone deserved to die in agonizing pain it was that old cow, they should stick her head on the tower bridge lets hope if there is a hell shes burning there for all eternity.

From my experience on ATS is that most people, especially the young ones are socially akward kids that live at home with their parents and think they have the world figured out. So they get on their computers and write whatever the next person says thinking their opinion is actual when in fact they are just feeding off the next person to feel like they belong to something. This site is going downhill and its going down fast.

more and more lately I've been considering closing the account and purely being a browser.. the owners/mods need to clean this place up, its just like every other snot hole forum on the internet at the moment.
