Dear ATS Readers, Writers,

Right along with what was discussed on the ATS Live Radio Show today...FINALLY, a bit of common sense.

No USA missile test, to avoid it being misread by North Korea, and further stoke the situation into one where North Korea will be "forced" to do SOMETHING BAD, if for no other reason than to save face.

I think this was a wise and prudent move, a type of move that should have been done much sooner.

The USA can bluster and beat its chest about North Korea, but it is the people Of Seoul SOUTH Korea who would be doing the dying, in droves and droves.

Anyhow, I did the search folks with the above title, and nothing came up, so tried, if a repeat I am sorry.

By the way, it was a GREAT ATS LIVE SHOW.. more folks from here need to listen to it. There was only like 30 in the ATS chat room. (I was on Skype to listen and chat with show hosts.. not enough posts yet.)

Here is to hoping this is the beginning of the end to the current flames of war trying to get going into an inferno in Korea.

Well I'd say thats pretty solid proof the US doesn't intend on invoking the North into a conflict.

Even further proof that says to me no one is going to spark a conflict in this mess.
I dont think N Korea will act out physically either.

No war!

I will guarantee you that it doesn't stop North Korea from doing what it ever it is planning on carrying out....

It's all about posture for the young North Korean leader proving himself.

If there is anything to worry about, it's that they will attack the DMZ and South Korea.

~Namaste.

Hello SOTLOO, ATS Readers, Writers,

Yeah, I know, THIS time with Korea, it seems different. Yes, the USA is NOW trying to show some restraint.

And all of the movement of planes, and etc recently, I believe, were for the "just in case" N Korea really means it this time scenario.

This NK leader is starting a new very dangerous game of brinksmanship.

And frankly I don't think anyone can say what he is up to, except maybe him alone.

Of course N Korea took the movement of USA forces and weapons as a provocation. Whether they were or not is anyones guess. Some were, some weren't is my gut feeling.

What? Is this an attempt to avoid Missile Envy?

I mean would he be able to see it? I didn't read anything in the article stating the missile test would fly over or near NK. I mean I don't want anything to escalate but is it necessary? or we just being extra careful? I'll be honest I don't know jack about missiles nor missile testing. Either way good I suppose.

I too see this as a prudent move. But I’m a Western thinking individual.
It’s my suspicion Korea North will see this as being spineless and weak.
THAT will (possibly) give them the courage to do whatever it is they’re planning on doing if they’re really planning on doing anything at all. (Isn’t that a loaded sentence).
Whatever happens? I’m sorry to say I believe it’s already written in stone - meaning - they will attack or not attack based on a decision that’s already unchangeable no matter what the USA does, or does not do.

Peace

North Korea is BEGGING for a war. They will twist any action of America's to make them feel good about attacking. "THE ENEMY WITHDRAWS THEIR WEAPONS, THEY COWER IN FEAR. WE MUST PRESS THE ATTACK!" I just can't see any other response from North Korea I am sorry.

Finally saner heads are prevailing. About time too. Looks like you have # on the parade of about 50% of ats with this article though, some people around here were looking forward to a good ole nuclear war by the way they have been talking. Shame on you OP

It may be a wise and prudent move, but man......Kim Jong Un just got a big pat on the back from his generals

Sorry, but this just looks very weak from the US. Sensible, yes, but oh so weak

North Korea is given chance to start getting down from that tree and this is good.
I bet that the intention is exactly to allow N.K to claim it as victory in their propaganda and for things to calm down. If it will happen it is win-win, North Korea did not get their usual blackmailing fee but its leaders can still claim victory and sane part of the globe can go on with their lives without fear for potentially nuclear conflict.

I think this delay is good.
If NK was looking for a press win or something to tell their people -- "Hey the U.S. was after us but we made them back down" they can certainly spin that this way. It may be spun to make NK look strong and the U.S. look weak to the people of NK but the higher ups know better. Much better.

It also takes a way a plausible reason for NK to do something. "Well, we thought they started the war!"

The U.S. is comfortable enough in their own skin and sure enough of their own power to stand down on a test that in the scheme of things isn't really a big deal to delay.
The above are my overwhelming feelings on the subject.

However, I did wonder -- mostly because I don't know enough about weapons -- the missile in question -- is it something we could need if things got out of hand? Why waste ammo on target practice if you are about to enter a real shoot out?

Still, even then, conservation of materials needed to win = good thing.

So, I think this is very much for the best.

Hello Todzer, ATS readers and Writers,

LOL.. well I had no intent to do to the dirty on some of the ATSérs who were INSANELY looking forward to some sort of conflict. Those folks obviously aren't living in Seoul, S Korea where the suffering by oodles and oodles of folks, totally innocent of course, would do the suffering.

Some people got no sense mate, in my opinion. But then some of the other responders have got good points as well. That N Korea will see it as some sort of weakness or some such.. sigh.. who knows.

If I had a magic wand, I would make the evil regime disappear, and put tons of food in the streets for the N Korean people... but Merlin died a long time ago. The art of magic is gone.

I just wanted to put it out there for folks to see and read, and maybe see that backing down makes a whole lot more sense, than beating your chest. And MAYBE hoping N Korea did the dirty and started an attack, to give the West an excuse to bomb the living beegeezus out of another tiny country.

It is kind of a lose lose situation for the West, and/or USA anyhow. It is like the young athletic 30 yr old beating the crap out of 65 yr old man. If you lose, you look really bad, and if you win you look like a real #head! LOL.

Reading this thread is really fascinating to me. What the US was going to launch in a missile test was a MinuteMan III intercontinental ballistic missile which was specifically created to carry a nuclear warhead. So let's think about this for a second...North Korea has been working on and developing nuclear warheads earning the response of aggressive economic sanctions by the rest of the world. In February, NK went ahead with a missile test that is presumed to not be capable of intercontinental distance and they got slammed even harder with more economic sanctions including from their ally, China. Yet, where are the economic sanctions being placed on the US for going ahead and planning out a test of the Minuteman III? Where is the social and political outcry? Stripping out all bias, if we're going to impose economic sanctions and impose other countries to follow suit because some country decided to test a nuclear missile, then why are we testing them? How is that not hypocrisy?

And don't tell me how bad Kim Jong Un is or how he can't be trusted with it because that's blind hypocrisy in itself. We are still the only nation that has ever detonated atomic weapons on another country--two cities filled with average every day people like you, me and all your neighbors--obliterated. You can say that we have shown greater responsibility with them in the almost 70 years since those events but I'd also say that, because we have shown that we can and will use such weaponry on another country, we haven't had to. I'd also suggest you looking up the possibility of depleted uranium being used by US forces in Iraq. Not to mention that we don't seem to trust our own government right now anyways--see the number of people who think Obama is the anti-christ and the Congressional approval rating.

He who laugh last will laugh best.

And American generals are having the last laugh, at Fatboy kim and his cronies. Fools that the NK regime is, and fools are what they are if they think they can make use of this generous concession from USA.

America is not like the East that cares about 'face', illlusions, delusions and egos. America is a pragmatic nation led by men of vision in private and public life.

By all means, Fatboy Kim and his cronies may claim propaganda value, BUT, the fact remains - his nuke programmes must end, and USA along with our world, will NOT let him get away with it if it thinks he will get his way, after so much pain and effort had been spent by us all and yet deceived by his cronies.

Right now, he can squawk all he wants, but if he refuses to end his nukes, he and his cronies' demise is LITERALLY within a push of a button at the US, SK, China or even Russia's military command.

In 1951, when UN push the China Army back to the Iron triangle under the brilliant General Ridgeway, the liberal stupid idiot Truman pushed for peace talks with China, whom had been supporting the canon fodder to prop up Granddady Kim. The devil Mao, as usual, refused to talk but instead to demand, when it had nothing, not even nukes then.

Eisenhower was elected, and supported the military effort in the Korean war, which that clown Truman probably a closet commie, didn't do so to help MacArthur- a Caesar reborn - , who even managed with little to push the Chinese army back all the way to their border, and even insanely firing him because MacArthur wanted to push all the way into a nuke powerless hideous commie china then under the devil Mao, to bring freedom and democracy to the chinese as he did to the japanese.

Eisenhower promised to bring the troops back and peace. After 2 miserable years of belligerance on Mao's side, Eisenhower had enough and hinted that war will be taken into the heartland of China, and with nukes.

Within months, the depraved Mao caved in and TRUCE was finally achieved, with S.Korea uplifting its people, but sadly, NKoreans enslaved by its own power lusting leaders.

Today, Fatboy Kim is trying to play the same trick as President Eisenhower had done in '53 with the threat of nukes. Kimmie boy is decades late. That trick is old and tried. Tody, we in the west have the means to destroy missiles in midflight, and even before they get to take off through many hi-tech means.

A bone had been thrown to Fatboy Kim. Take it or leave it, BUT the nuke programme must end, or else, nothing has change with the world's stance over nuclear proliferation.

OH my! BE CAREFUL ALICE!! Don't you know you get in trouble if you speak THE TRUTH! LOL

Yes, isn't hypocrisy just grand? All I can say is: Gee, no wonder the folks back in the states don't trust their government!

Just one of the many reasons I just HAD TO LEAVE there for!

good. let him think he's won something so he'll pipe down. carrying out a missile test on schedule isn't worth countless deaths by any stretch of the imagination.

no one with a modicum of sense would make that trade. he has a napoleon complex, maybe now he's "shown" everyone that he can make the west back down he'll chill a bit.

Dear SOT101, ATS Readers, Writers,

You bring up some good points!

Yep, even IF this big flare up calms down quite a bit, which is at this point a 25-75 chance at best in my opinion; the UN, or the world is going to press home the FACT that it won't tolerate him having nuclear weapons.

To the world, Kim has just become too rabid to tolerate any more I think. Too much of a loose cannon.

Truman was an idiot to get rid of McArthur, but the world hadn't been brainwashed into WAR FOREVER is the normal yet. And they didn't want to have to use nukes again, for obvious reasons.

I am of the mind set, that Communist China is what the post world war scenario was supposed to be. Not necessarily right or proper, but what the future NWO folks wanted to be established. It was the secret government that Woodrow Wilson spoke of in his memoirs, and the higher ups of what Eisenhower was referring to in his exit from office speech on looking out for the Military Industrial Complex, and trying to warn Americans NOT to let them get in charge.

This is not that much different about another general, who got taken out, after his usefulness to the elites was used up. PATTON, who wanted to get rid of those pesky Socialists.

The North Koreans have wanted a peace treaty for a long time. BUT, of course they wanted one which favoured them to the hilt. They wanted ONE country but TWO systems. The south part being capitalistic and democratic type atmosphere, with the north still Communist run. The USA has always refused to accept this; and rightly so in my opinion. It is pretty obvious what the Communist Koreans were going to do after they achieved that two sided peace treaty. Get the foreign troops to leave, and then infiltrate and take over by force if need be, the South Koreans. Kind of like Viet Nam just in a real crappy cold place.

The evil scum who REALLY run the world, were just setting up the chess pieces on the board for how they envisioned the final play of the century long game to come into check and finally CHECKMATE!

The 1955 world scenario had managed to establish TWO HUGE future rivals that the elite wished to use for the FINAL END GAME manoeuvres. (This is where we are at now, in the very sick games the elite play) Patton would have eliminated one, and McArthur the other one. NOPE, that wasn't PART OF THE PLAN! And they both needed removed from doing what the two generals perhaps SHOULD have done, to AVOID the stinking mess we have now world wide from a military viewpoint.

In the above I am referring to what Albert Pike wrote about, in his 3 World Wars letter to Manzzini. Even though this letter has been subjected to much scorn by the elite as a FRUAD, or HOAX, it has been out long enough to see what Albert Pike wrote about the THIRD WORLD WAR is sure coming along according to the plan!

The Third World War must be fomented by taking advantage of the differences caused by the "agentur" of the "Illuminati" between the political Zionists and the leaders of Islamic World. The war must be conducted in such a way that Islam (the Moslem Arabic World) and political Zionism (the State of Israel) mutually destroy each other. Meanwhile the other nations, once more divided on this issue will be constrained to fight to the point of complete physical, moral, spiritual and economical exhaustion…We shall unleash the Nihilists and the atheists, and we shall provoke a formidable social cataclysm which in all its horror will show clearly to the nations the effect of absolute atheism, origin of savagery and of the most bloody turmoil. Then everywhere, the citizens, obliged to defend themselves against the world minority of revolutionaries, will exterminate those destroyers of civilization, and the multitude, disillusioned with Christianity, whose deistic spirits will from that moment be without compass or direction, anxious for an ideal, but without knowing where to render its adoration, will receive the true light through the universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer, brought finally out in the public view. This manifestation will result from the general reactionary movement which will follow the destruction of Christianity and atheism, both conquered and exterminated at the same time."

The letter

I personally do NOT think this letter is/was a hoax. But, even it was; when it was becoming widely known to exist, that was a LONG time before the current world situation, economically, and/or militarily. I DO FIND it highly accurate in our current world situation. And when it became widely known, most in the world would say NO WAY WILL THAT HAPPEN, yet... HERE WE ARE!

Kissinger has been coming out of the woodwork recently. BIG danger signals there. SHTF moment may have arrived for mankind.

Hello silo13, ATS Readers, Writers,

Your point, well taken, N Korea just might see it as spineless and weak, YEP. Who knows what goes on in those minds in N Korea!??

THAT will (possibly) give them the courage to do whatever it is they’re planning on doing if they’re really planning on doing anything at all. (Isn’t that a loaded sentence).

LOL, nope not loaded at all, unless you are referring to the loaded missiles recently moved to launch sites? And WILL N Korea launch one as a show of force? Will they listen to China telling them to back down? Serious questions...sigh

And, God forbid, say they DO launch a missile, even if just to splash in the ocean; WILL one of those US Missile Defense ships shoot it down? Because maybe it "might" be headed somewhere besides a splashdown? And what would be the results of that move? More serious questions.

Yep... we don't know what is cooking in the kitchen, but I think it is burning..lol
