These are my most memorable favourite B-Sides, in some cases I liked them more than the A-side that I bought the record for in the first instance.

not sure if this was a b-side or not, but don't remember it being a main single

Thank you OP for a lovely trip down memory lane

edit on 6-4-2013 by CthulhuMythos because: one was not a true b-side

Man, you all have (what I consider) awesome taste in music.
I hope my contribution is equally worthy.

not sure how old you are, I'm 48 but always loved doo-wap and 50's/60's kinda stuff (still do), totally love The Sonics and the song Stop and Listen by The Shag which is a bit of a rarity to find now and have no idea if it was out as a single at all or just part of this film and have no idea which film it is.

This has to be my favourite S&G song, dunno it was a b-side mind you.

It's not often that I feel this way, and even on those few occasions when I do, I would usually avoid mentioning it.

In this instance however, this cover version surpasses the original to such an extent that I have no problem saying "It's waaaaaaayyy better than the original!"

It's probably one of those types of songs that you may not think you know, but then quickly recognize the lyrics once you hear them.

Who's gonna tell you when it's too late?
Who's gonna tell you "Things aren't so great"?
You can't go on thinking nothing's wrong
Who's gonna drive you home tonight?

Who's gonna pick you up when you fall?
Who's gonna hang it up when you call?
Who's gonna pay attention to your dreams?
Who's gonna plug their ears when you scream?
You can't go on thinking nothing's wrong
Who's gonna drive you home tonight?

Who's gonna hold you down when you shake?
Who's gonna come around when you break?

You can't go on thinking nothing's wrong
Who's gonna drive you home tonight?

Original Version = The Cars - 'Drive'

Well, to be honest about it, I'm probably about 2 decades behind, myself.
I just wish everyone else was also still back there.(or back then)

What seems strange is that it's not even labelled correctly.lol.
It claims to be from the 'Acoustic Sessions', but that is just a fan-made internet collection of somewhat rare songs from various sources. I have that particular song on a CD-Single Imported from Australia.

I don't know, but maybe it's still available for purchase in Australia, and IF that is where you are, that may be the reason it was blocked? I don't know.....

I have to go with "Burn on the Flame" which is The Sweet's B-Side to "Fox on the Run". Their album, Desolation Blvd still tears it up on 8-track! Get it on vinyl with the giant headphones that are now back in style after 30 years.
I kept my originals.
Oh, and anything on the Yellow Submarine Album that isn't Yellow Submarine. George Harrison
does amazing songs on that giant B-Side album.

Back when U2 peaked (artistically) was c.1987, on "The Joshua Tree" album. (OK, I'll include Rattle & Hum in the artistic peak era) There were some amazing B-side tracks that didn't make the album, notably "Silver and Gold", "Walk to the Water", "Luminous Times", "Spanish Eyes", "Deep in the Heart", "Race Against Time", and my personal favorite, "The Sweetest Thing."

Full album plus all B sides here, click times in notes to FF

Stiff Little Fingers released their first single Suspect Device in 1978 and tucked away on the B-Side was a track that is as equally highly regarded by fans - Wasted Life.

Some of Oasis's best songs were B-Sides, these are my two favourites

Could have added plenty of The Roses but the monkey beat me to it.

This was on the B-Side of Dexys Midnight Runners hit Geno.
It's a cover of a Northern Soul classic, personally I think it's the best version around.

Rush - Vital Signs (Live)

This song was supposed to be placed on the Exit... Stage Left album, but due to time constraints, it was left off and eventually made its way to the "B"-side of the New World Man single.

Do bonus/hidden tracks count? Anyway heregoes…

Jimmy Eat World - "Splash, Turn, Twist" (as bubblegum poppy as I can stand but I grew up on this, so no hatin', y'all.) From their 2001 breakout album Bleed American (title changed to Jimmy Eat World in the wake of 9/11).

The second one I couldn't find on Youtube. It's "A Beautiful Dream", a the second hidden track attached to "Your Arizona Room" on Everclear's 2006 album, Welcome to the Drama Club. Look It up if you can. Seems to be about overcoming depression and learning to enjoy life, something I can get behind for sure.

The final bonus track I want to feature is from John Mellencamp's Freedom's Road. It's called "Rodeo Clown" (and it's obvious from the uploader whom this deep but refers to.) You'll have to turn it up to hear it and the quality's not great but if you love 'Murka as much as I do you'll love this song and remember there's still justice to be done.

This topic didn't get nearly far enough, so I'm resurrecting it lol. I absolutely love all of these topics, because there is nothing I love more than music, and music (for me anyhow) is healing and rejuvenating.

This is a stripped down acoustic studio recording of a more elaborately arranged song originally found on an album. This version (as far as I know) was only available as a B-side on a different single from that same album. (I'm pretty sure they're still called B-sides in the music and radio industry even if they're on CD lol.)

Peace.
