Hello ATS.

I saw this article this morning on 'RT'....source.
(my apologies if this has been posted.)

It seems Russia is concerned about the situation but not to the point where they are leaving the area. I saw a thread earlier that mentioned something about evacuations and figured this should be included.

North Korea has suggested Russia evacuate its embassy in Pyongyang amid growing tension in the region. Moscow says it is considering the request, but is not planning to evacuate diplomats anytime soon.

The Russian side “is examining the suggestion,” but the embassy is working normally and there’s no sign of tension in Pyongyang, Samsonov said.

The Russian Foreign Ministry on Friday called for all sides to refrain from “war hysteria,” and stressed there’s “no alternative other than political and diplomatic solution” for the Korean crisis.

It could be that the media is hyping this story just a little bit.
I will say it's a sad day when Russia has become the voice of reason.

I would think if North Korea was suggesting they evacuate that they should probably evacuate. Wouldn't this be equivalent to having a firefighter telling you to leave a burning house but you saying no I can handle it?

Well, if the Russians are staying I sure hope Obama's people have a better aim with their missiles than Clinton's people did. Putin wouldn't see humor, I'm thinking. In fact, he might just get downright mad.

US Air Strike on China’s Embassy in Belgrade in 1999 was Deliberate

Personally...I wonder how the Russians manning the Embassy feel about all this. The last place I'd want to be is downrange of a U.S. military engagement. All those billion dollar toys seem to go a little haywire at the damndest times, eh?

I sure can't disagree with your logic, if they asked me to leave I'd leave.

I just hope this calms down before we do cross that red line.

It probably will calm down after the gun control law clears the senate, at least that is my thoughts. And I don't think anyone should up and leave N Korea, in fact alot of pressure to actually turn it into a free and decent country should occur, everyone should send massive more diplomats and the UN should establish a huge presence there.

No, it's more the equivalent of telling your friends to "Hold me back!" when you have no intention of actually doing anything, but are just trying to bolster your manhood to your buddies.

I seriously think one has NOTHING to do with the other. I mean, there are conspiracies, but this? If it has truly reached THAT level, then we're all more than doomed already.
Even if such legislation did pass though, it'd be slowly (and quietly) rolled back once the government got their new prices on bulk purchases from arms manufacturers, who now have to stick it to the government for all their lost profits.

Golly... I sure hope Kim gets the memo that this whole thing is just a big show and stage act for US domestic policy goals of the current President.

C'mon... That's just silly. We're watching the end of a 60 year drama and ongoing cold war between North and South Korea play out. China is behind the North ..physically if not politically (and the Juries out on that one) and we're behind the South....as it's always been.

I think someone else put it best in a thread last night. North Korea is stuck in a Cold War time warp and we're all getting drawn in like the event horizon of a black hole.

I would think that NK is warning the Diplomatic Embassies (they have warned more than just Russia; the UK and others have been warned too) to evacuate in the anticipation of war. Why else would they tell them to consider evacuating Pyongyang? My guess is that they know there will be war, they know that Pyongyang will get hit, so they are telling the diplomats to get out while they still can...

It would be nice if NK was free but I don't think China is going to let that happen.

They haven't asked them to leave at all.

What they actually said was they "would be unable to guarantee the safety of embassies and international organizations in the country in the event of conflict from April 10,”

Everything coming from North Korea seems to be prefaced with 'if we are attacked' but the msm seem to always forget that bit...

Good to see they care about those embassy folk . . . too bad they clearly don't give a stinky loose turd about the millions of their own people who will be turned to dust if this all falls apart . . .

And an even better good thing that they've used a whack of resources to build the bombs of which they claim to be in possession and further threaten to use instead of developing the necessary infrastructure to feed the aforementioned innocent soon-to-be-dust pawns. Then again, why bother feeding those who you plan to sacrifice for the purpose of being . . . well . . . intransigent dickheads.

In all their attempts to be un-western-worldish, they sure have bought into the corporate military machine mentality that infests the socio-econmic realm on this side of the sphere.

Hypocritical peckerheads.

I wonder what the significance of April 10th is?

Not if you knew the house wasn't currently on fire, and had an idea that it probably wouldn't catch fire in the immediate future, why would you leave?

Maybe Russia has a different perspective and intel, and doesn't see the dire urgency of this situation. North Korea's all, "You need to leave, NOW." Russia's all, "You know you aren't gonna do anything, bro."

Right now it's just posturing. By both parties (NK and US). IMO. Not saying something won't eventually happen, but NK would be stupid to try anything. NK is just huffing and puffing and the US is just moving the pieces around. [

It seems to me that the Russians know fully well that this is more NK sabre-rattling and tough talk. I don't think anyone except the US fear-porn media takes NK seriously anymore after talking s*** for so long.

Just one more saber to rattle, of course. It's ok though, did you see Japan's response to moving the second missile? Priceless....
