Rightly said.

Kim Jong Un is a bewildered boy, educated abroad who has seen the good life, unable to come to terms with the plight of his countrymen. He must be a very sad person inside.

The only outcome is collapse of NK. NK may make a last stand before it falls. Thats about it. There is no great war with US happening here. The fact is South Korea can deal with this situation on its own.

Thanks for the reply Zaph , youve actually summed up what i was pretty much thinking. Backing down for Li'l Kim now would surely be as suicidal (to his regime) as it would be to strike first, the manboy must be in a very dark place right now.

I don't think so. I speculated jokingly that his actions were meant to project dominance with a hint of madman to attract a female.

He's happily married to a beautiful woman.

I'd say he's content and surrounded by people who support him.

The question is, when they shoot them into the ocean, will they consider the US shooting the missiles down an attack? or will they again just accept it and continue to bluster?... the question then becomes will the US take the risk and shoot them down at all if they are obviously going to splash in the middle of the ocean?

Remember always and stick to the facts - Fatboy kim HAD DECLARED WAR upon USA and S.Korea a few days ago.

Although a state of war does exist between them, an armistice had been placed in effect for decades, and N.Korean had EVEN recieved food aid from S.Korea and USA a few years back. Hostilities had seemed to ceased.

But only a DECEPTION by N.Korea as it quietly build up nukes and tested ICBMS, dishonoring every treaty, agreement and resolutions of UN. S.Korea and USA had NOT declared war on N.Korea, only placed trade sanctions to make Fatboy Kim abide by UN resolutions and end the nuke programme, and conducted training EXCERCISES, not war, in S.korea to be prepared if one day war came from N.Korea.

As N.Korea had NOW DECLARED WAR, the only action one must take is to threat EVERY N.Korean action as ACTS OF WAR, or we mankind will only be plain idiots for making the same mistakes of inaction time and time again, which had in the past cost the lives of many innocents whom were duped by irrational stupidities spouted from the braindead and the deluded.

It possesses nukes and regardless if those missiles are working or not, are fitted with nukes or not, mankind cannot afford to take any chances. Those missiles have only one intention - an ACT OF WAR, for ATTACK to kill others, regardless where it falls or any other matters.

Shall mankind wait for it to be launched, or take it out now as war had already been declared by N.Korea themselves?

Theoratically, since war had been declared by them, it means HUNTING SEASON IS OPEN. A FULL SCALE FULL SPECTRUM war can be unleashed as a pre-emptive strike upon the military might of N.Korea to save the lives of innocents from an imminent REAL and PRESENT act of war from N.Korea.

The defence treaty between China and N.Korea applies ONLY IF N.korea is attacked, NOT when N.Korea does the attacking.

China have EVERY reason not to act, as it had been SLAPPED by N.korea a few times. NK had repeatedly not heed the advices of China even as China fed and shared wealth with them, and worse of all was that it was China who assured the world that if we feed N.Korea, they will end the belligerances and nuke programmes, and thus the 'sunshine policy' scam which Nk instead use the aid to feed only its army and fund purchase of weapons and accessories.

Would anyone trust China now, after the revelation nukes made and avaliable now in N.Korea? I am sure China had good intentions back then, but even they did not understand the nature of the NK regime and were equally fooled. War is not what China want, only economics as it has 1.3 billion mouths to feed and social expenditure to finance.

As Fatboy decides it wants to be a loose canon, act on its own will with disregards to ANYONE, China will have to wash its hands over him, or be dragged into a wider conflict with others NONE can win at this point, unnecessarily.

Fatboy Kim had made his own decision, and it is high time China let the deadweight sink on its own.

China is sitting on the sidelines as we move anti-ballistic missiles into the region. It's a sure sign that China is tired of North Korea and perceive them more of a nuisance than an ally. I still say both South Korea and the U.S. are drooling to get their teeth into North Korea. What will be, will be. The North Korean people have no say in the matter, yet they're the ones that will receive the devastating impact of any action by Kim and his military cronies.

War...may be ......inevitable....

When Ceasar crossed the Rubicon, to march on Rome to save his beloved Rome of necessary reforms from the ineptitude of the senate faction, the senate fled to north africa and made Pompey the leader of their rebellion.

Unfortunately, Pompey was a lameduck, as his orders were countermanded and argued at every time by the fractious rebel senators-armchair generals - which resulted in numerous defeats for the rebellion when Ceasar attempted to put them down to prevent the needed economic grain and taxes supply to Rome disrupted.

Pompey gave up all pretenses of leadership, as it was never respected in the first place, for the republican self serving rebel senators could never agree on anything, making military operations unwinnable if not utterly insane. Eventually, the rebel senate lost, and Pompey long fled towards India with the intention of being made a general there, only to have his head lobbed off when he made a stopover in Alexandria by Ceaser's supporters.

Today, there are some amongst us whom had suffered mentally and wished to end their lives, but do not have the guts to do it upon themselves. They then got a gun and pretended to rob a store, with cops nearby. When the alarm is raised, as the cops rushed in, the suicidal human merely pointed the gun at the police, and the natural response by the police was to shoot the 'criminal's' head to prevent aiming and pulling the trigger, killing him instantly.

There are many other cases whereby some depressed and quitter humans chosed such means to end their lives, using others to do that deed for them, such as jumping onto railway tracks in the face of onrushing trains, or running across busy roads in the hope to be hit by speeding trucks.

My point is - could Kim Jong Un be doing something similar?

I had read extensively over many reports, and yet NONE could rationalise credibly on the insane actions fo N.Korea. There seems to be NO logical explanations for their behaviour, in the face of a high tech military might of both S.Korea and USA, and total disregard to the calls from NK's allies.

Can 'suicide' be what Kim Jong Un want, as he knows he is only a leader by name like Pompey, ruled by insane deeply brainwashed military leaders whom sought for a 'final' reckoning in their twilight years, to see the 'new' dawn, an only dawn whereby they will be dead followed by millions of young Nkoreans in a fight that can never be won by the current NK army?

Jesus - it needs not be this way!

All Nk needs to do is just end the nuke programme, and sanctions will be lifted. The West and S.Korea is not even calling for regime change!

If many of the other asian nations, all whom had not opted for nukes, had succeeded economically, keeping their freedoms and uplifted their citizens from serfdom to middle classes through shared and agreed upon societal rule of law and effort of decades, so too can N.Korea!

Or...are the NK leaders so brainwashed, with their bodies on this planet but their minds on some other deluded place, that they fatally and delusively think they can win this war, placing millions of precious human lives on both sides to such tragic fates?

Is there no other way...when logic and reason becomes unacceptable and ignored, and violence inevitable.........?

Saddam Hussein "has existing and active military plans for the use of chemical and biological weapons, which could be activated within 45 minutes, including against his own Shia population". Tony Blair, September 2003

Remember that one? Also...

Mark Fitzpatrick, Director of Nuclear Non-Proliferation and disarmament at the International Institute for Strategic Studies, told ITV News that Mr Cameron was correct to warn about the dangers from Pyongyang. But he added: “North Korea does not have any missile capabilities that could hit Britain and it is difficult to envision circumstances when North Korea ever would want to attack the UK even if they could.”

Where do you think all those chem and bio weapons causing so many problems in Syria came from?

It was an open secret that they was heading out on trucks just days before the war started.

North Korea is a relatively small country with no significant exports to the West.

So it is a very good proxy (may be for China).

If somebody wishes to tie up US military resources in the Pacific, North Korea may be a very good way to do that.

We shall see. If a lot of trouble suddenly flares up in middle-east while all attention is on East Asia, this will get confirmed.
