I don't see how one can say that the scientists are "myopic" when they consider extra dimensions in the world we are living in, they discovered the quantum mechanics which is far from the normal everyday sort of expected logic, they realized just how complex gravitation is (and thus made your GPS works). It's just hilarious to observe here on ATS how some armchair philosopher with apparently lacking any scientific talents goes about dissing the bright minds who made this world tick.

How complex gravitation is? Don't you mean gravity and last I heard or read, no one understands what gravity is or how it works. There are theories - and phsycists are seeking (heard they may have found) the Higgs Boson or "God" Particle which may help in that direction.

Science don't reinvent - its a long slow process of trail and error, ever-spiraling to new concepts, new applications. All science is built on what went before.

Extra dimensions/String Theory are just tiny incredments on that spiral of knowledge - maybe something will come of it, practically, someday.
