I left work early today to get my oil changed and vote....

When I get to the Super Lube, the guys are all in the bay talking - when I get out of my car, the manager approachs me and says - "We had a known terrorist come through earlier today!"

Needless to say, I was pretty shocked...the guy said he had seen a bullet-proof vest, a pair of handcuffs, and several weapons - all which were clealry visible and sprawled out in the back of his SUV...

Since this looked pretty suspicious, he did the right thing and called the copsand provided them with the name he had given them, and after they ran it through whatever checks are customary, it came back as a known alias for a missing terrorist...

I havn't seen this hit the news yet, but I wouldn't doubt it to be in the works...

I wonder if this guy could be part of a deployment to "punish" states where Bush wins (as threatened by Osama)?

Something seems afoot, but if AQ is involved, it will probably be different from what we have seen so far.

Missing from where? The CIA?

Did this person notice if the equipment he had, (sunglasses, vest, etc) were US government issue.

Have a look at this Cryptome site. It shows many translations of Osam bin Laden's latest speech. The threat to"punish" states was a reference to nation states not individual US States.

Your security is not in the hands of (Democratic presidential candidate John) Kerry or Bush or al Qaeda. Your security is in your own hands and each state which does not harm our security will remain safe.

I am confused about how in this context the term "states" is referring to nations. Please explain.

I'm just wondering if maybe they saw my Badnarik sticker on my window and decided they'd try and pull some scare tactitcs to change my vote in the last minute

I believe zero lift's referring to the fact that they made threats to punish an entire country or a vague referrence to a mass of land as oppossed to saying Iowa or Texas...

Why would a terrorist not conceal his weapons and pull into a Super Lube to get his truck lubed -- and use a known terrorist alias?

If he's about to carry out a suicide attack, it seems the last thing he needs to worry about is excessive engine wear from dirty oil. The exposure of giving his alias and the obvious display of weapons don't make any sense at all.

Something just doesn't seem right about this.

I agree...it does sound pretty odd...I wonder if he changed his air filter....

If I hear anything in the local news I'll post it here...who knows though...It's also worthy to question why they'd choose to lie to me about something so abstract....*shrugs*

So assuming this person was a terrorist, albeit a stupid one for not hiding his stuff, Did they let him just walk away?

Huh?

Sounds like a good question to me.

So your saying they did let him walk away?

Edit; OOPS! long night

The quote in 922457 didn't show at first. Busy server?

From what I assumed, they must have called him in after he left...To be honest, I really don't know if the guy actually got service while he was there - maybe he just popped in for a second to check his tire pressure??

Again - Apart from overhearing the guys chatting away about it (basically saying who was working at the time, etc...), and the manager making a comment as I was paying, that's all I know...I'm not entirely "in" on the network system they use to track them, but I do remember he spat out an acronym...like the "FDLE" I think is what he said...Florida Department of Law Enforcement...so maybe this "wanted terrorist" is an abortion clinic bombing...maybe there are no ties to AQ...but I doubt they'd let them in on that kind of info...

EDIT: Sorry TCN...I added the quoted material in the edit of my last post - it was referring to evecasino's comment

It's kind of scary to walk into something like that. Alot of nuts are out there. I hope everything works out OK.
