Hi there everybody,

My cat is doing the strangest thing!!

She attacks me when I am on my phone! She will do this when I get a call or make a call, not just on my cell but also on my "landline".

Luckily she hasn't hurt me too much, but, I must admit that it is the funniest thing. I usually just end up laughing, maybe because I don't know why she behaves like this????

It does become a bit of a problem when I am on the phone with clients, though. She will take little nips on my hands and arms and I will obviously react with a sound!

Here is photo of her, her name is Katje

Does anybody know why she is doing this? I would appreciate all feedback.

Sweet looking cat. Its probably jealous of your attention to the phone.

Little nips are signs of affection...cat thinks you are talking to it (while you're on the phone talking to someone else)...

Cute cat...

That cat is a troll. Look into her eyes. You can see the deviousness within, under that "Who me?" outward appearance.

hehe

Jealousy maybe. She thinks, as mentioned, you're giving attention to that funny mouse/cat/thing that you pull the head off and speak into.

We had a stray who was so nervous of touch at first, but as soon as he realised what attention was like, as soon as I'd try to walk away he'd nip at and go after my feet.

Ahh I miss my cats..

Obviously, its trying to save you from being mind controlled by the phone, so it can mind control you.

Thanks!

That's why I laugh when she does it. She will literally climb on my lower arm and start nipping me!

Lol thread title reminds me of "dog bites man on motorcycle"

My first thought was "what's your cat doing on the phone?"

Yeah, the eyes do look devious in the photo!

I've had cats all through childhood, and then again only recently. She is really the most awesome cat with a beautiful nature.

Maybe you should get yourself one again????

What a gorgeous cat-she looks almost identical to my male cat,Gonzo!

Maybe she's a bit of an attention-ho

This i have noticed with cats:
It's okay for you to not be paying them attention while you're just lounging around, not doing much of anything at all really.

It's NOT!!!! okay to not be paying attention to them,AND be busy with something that has all of your attention

If she truly wanted to hurt you (or if she were frightened) she would...

Cats love smells (catnip, human sweat, some types of perfume/soap/shampoo)...but, in my experience (and I am a huuuuge cat lover)...this is affection...if she could reach your neck - that's where she'd be nipping!

She's in love!

That made me laugh!

She already got that right! The mind control thing. Gets food out of me when ever she wants, even when I know I shouldn't!

Absolutely nothing out of the ordinary at all.

(sending encoded message to the cat telling her to stop being so obvious)

I'm sure she just thinks it's play time or is looking for affection

(setting the cat up for deprogramming before we all get caught)

Yeah, I wouldn't worry too much about it, it's really nothing.

(sending in undercover operative for reprogramming of our cat-agent)

Maybe if you give her a treat while you're on the phone or maybe even a can of tuna.

(charging said cat for the tuna she'll be getting, deducting it from her secret spy salary)

Everyone knows cats are just ordinary animals and crave human affection

(sending in a drone just in case)

Thank you, she was the cutest thing when she was a kitten!

As to the attention ho, that I can believe. While doing dishes or writing she will always come and sit in front of me that always hinders me!
