im trying to find which IT service or industry uses "alot" of electricity,
my country is about to have a massive surplus of cheep green power and i want to know,
what would be the best use of this cheep power suplus?

and watts for dollars, is it more profitable to set up compute clouds
SAAS clouds?
storage clusters?
web servers?
gaming servers?
email hosting?

i would like to hear from anyone,
all thoughts are welcome.

I would have to guess that gaming servers, email servers, and electronic payment servers rank some where at the top...

there is a very real possibility that we here in New Zealand are about to have an excess of green power,
which will push power prices down across the board.

i have read that large companies like renewable green energy to power their infrastructure,
and would like to investigate which services are the most profitable while consuming the most power,

i have tried to Google for results but cant find any real hard facts on power consumption vs profitability

What about the phone service?

That has to use a mass of electricity all the time.
