I've seen a lot of people on ATS claiming they want to murder others for political or religious reasons

I'm glad they are spying on these types of people.

Lets see some quotes to prove your claim.

Seems these people would have likewise spied on the first American patriots as well.

Well many dont know but Jefferson lost his massive book collection to a "fire". He was known for having maybe the greatest collection of radical political writting in the colnies anyway.

Senators, governors, mayors are not doing their jobs reading bills. They are there to protect us the people from draconian laws being passed while we sleep at night. So here you have a bunch of stupid laws slipping by taking more of our rights away and we're expected to be happy about it?? Call us terrorist and extremists and conspiracy theorists, but one thing is clear the US is a tyrant overrun by fraud, deception, and thieves. In one hand they talk about democracy and in the other hand shred the constitution to bits. It's only a matter of time for this house of cards.

Milieu control -- the people at your fusion center are under it. They should be called refusion centers, because they refuse to see some behaviors as American. It's very cult-like, with a new American religion. Cult of the sacred American databases. Now with less guns, more fluor-aid.

What is an American interest and value? What does an anti-government American look like? It seems oxymoronic, an American that is anti-American. Is it someone who has never been in the military? Is it someone who knows a couple of illegal immigrants? Is it someone who might be smoking weed in Colorado? Is it someone who doesn't like corruption in law enforcement?

In worse neighborhoods, I have heard crooks say that the fusion centers are corrupt. The biggest problem is the premise of government and law enforcement purity, which is impossible. There have always been people in law enforcement and government types who take bribes, delete information from computers, steal IDs, type in false information for their organized crime syndicates, leak information to gangs on the outside of their structure, and make governance by computer a very dangerous thing for citizens.

All it would take would be one hack...

Law enforcement intelligence-processing fusion centers have long come under attack for spying on Americans. The Arkansas director wanted to clarify the truth: centers only spies on some Americans – those who appear to be a threat to the government...

...After claiming that his office ‘absolutely’ does not spy on Americans, he proceeded to explain that this does not apply to those who could be interpreted as a ‘threat’ to national security. Davis said his office places its focus on international plots, “domestic terrorism and certain groups that are anti-government. We want to kind of take a look at that and receive that information.”

But the First Amendment allows for the freedom of speech and opinion, making it lawfully acceptable for Americans to express their grievances against the US government....

More at Source.

Mmmm-hmm. Yup, they are just targeting the bad guys, and we all know "If you've done nothing wrong you have nothing to worry about," right?

The problem is the definitions of "right and wrong" seem to be getting a little hazy when it comes to the first amendment and criticizing the current admonistration. I mean, we have guys like this with govt power that want to "cognitively inifltrate" ATS to show us the error of our ways for criticizing the govt.

Are these the types of people that decide the difference between the good guys and the bad guys? Really?

Fact of the matter is, these issues shouldn't be getting "hazy" at all. They are crystal clear: the First Ammmendment allows each and every American to say whatever they like about the government, good bad or ugly. Period point blank. And its wrong to be spying on US domestics based on their (alleged) opinions of the government.

Ever get the feeling you are living in one of those "near future sci-fi" books from the 60s or 70s?

This is exactly the reason everyone should be anti-government when bill clinton anounces that he is sorry that they have been torturing and programming innocent americans to kill other americans in operations like MK ULTRA then you get the lowest forms of life trying to tell us that you shouldn't be against the government.

and in case your in europe and feeling left out don't think your governments don't kill you over there, the Italian primeminister exposed operation gladio where most of the terroist groups were infiltrated by government soldiers and made to blow up the citizens under the ruse of terroist organisations so you would vote right wing governments.

actually, clinton was apologizing for unethical radiation experiments on citizens...not MKULTRA...

don't get me wrong, that's still seriously bad, it's just not MKULTRA, ok?
