Sorry Mates. Australia To Cut Out US Dollar.

Its strictly business you must understand.

The QE that America will not end has really hurt Australian exporters. America has forced Australia to dump the USD in International Trade with China who happens to buy a third of Australian Exports. Now that Australia has shown that business is more important that 'friendship' you will see Australia make more announcement's of direct trade with other nations.

But if America was really Australia's friend would they be attacking our exporters by manipulation of their currency through 'Unlimited Quantitative Easing'? We get the message America. You do not value friendship with Australia. Thats fine. Australia is an Asian nation and we are well positioned to enter the Asian Century.

Australia is the first of America's 'friends' to jump ship. We have seen the BRIIICS members agreeing to direct trade deals and some western nations have been doing it here and there. But this is different. China and Australia are going to agree to use our own currencies for all trade between our nations. The Australian Governments 'white paper' on The Asian Century has given us many idea's on how Australia can fit into the Asian Century. Having America as a friend is a burden. Having America as a friend is Australias's greatest challenge heading into The Asian Century.

I think other Western Nations will see what Australia is doing and follow suit. Sorry about that mates. Just business you understand. Money talks and America walks.

I reckon. I find the whole bitcoin thing highly suspicious. And I woudnt be shocked if bitcoin ended up helping America down the track in some crazy way or another.

It may end up helping many Americans, but probably not the status quo America/current leadership.

It can't be printed like phone books nor can it be endlessly taxed to finance waste, so...

I don't blame the Auzzies at all... I'm an American and I dumped the USD a while back, except for paying bills and other life necessities. Anything extra is OUT of the USD. This news is fine by me... let's get this crash over with... let the chips (and spent ammo casings) fall where they may

Australia is doing what they think is best for their country and its people; this is to be expected; and what they want to do does make sense; however...I just don't like it when people gloat about it.

Obviously this country is trying to help itself, but we don't need this "sorry america, we're leaving ya" attitude. I mean, if SHTF, and one country is to help us, it would (presumably), be the americans - not china.

Hell, we got rid of our mandarin speaking leader, and i don't think julia would be up to the task of a strong relationship with the chinese.

I agree with your sentiments. On the other hand it is America that says:

"You're either with us or against us."

Why can't Australia choose to have both America and China as our allies and friends. Surely it is our choice.

The world stage reminds me often of a bunch of school yard bullies. "If you play with them, you can't play with us!"

No one tells me who I can have as friends, no one!

Good show Oz .. bout time you guys stopped accepting the americans play money ... theres already many parts of asia havent accepted it for few years now ... personally stopped accepting u.s and western currencies about four years ago

Kind of sad when a country that is its own entire continent has to team up with another continent like Asia to claim it has a part in the "new century" of economics. Australia is an "Asian country"?!?! LOL, I guess we have 6 continents then.

Australia is not and will never be part of Asia - period!


Australia is in a gifted position to be the world leader economically.

We have a massive mining sector thats booming, unfortunately we have a pitiful leadership that has no experience in taking advantage and managing this awesome opportunity.

Manufacturing and the industrial sector has suffered enomously due to the strong Australian dollar.

A couple things Australia needs to do....

1) Devalue their dollar a little (im not an economist so do not unde3rstand how other countries do this but if they can, why cant we?)

2) Bring back tarrifs on imported goods. Why should we be the only donkeys to reduce tarrifs to zero % while others still rtin them to protect their own industries?

3) Get rid of the mining tax.

4) Get out of the singapore standard for the value of oil when we have heaps of oil and gas ourselves to use but we have to suffer by paying higher "international rtes".

5) Tear up all the stupid free trade agreements Australia has signed over the years.....these are nothing more than more nails in our manufacturing coffin.

6) Get a leader with some brains and vision. (seems to be much harder than it is lately)

Australia is under the thumb of the British Crown even more than America is.. a decision as big as this is coming from above just like when they took our guns off us at Port Arthur, this is the NWO happening in front of your eyes..

I wouldnt say the op hates Americans per se' he's just showing a trend, that happens to be downward, in a spiral like fashion, making a loud whining noise. with smoke and flames billowing out.

I would probably turn my back on the US too, considering the current administration. But beware, the world is on the verge of realigning world powers- if you're betting on China, you better hope you bet right. As an American, I find myself to be strongly biased, yet I can understand why our allies have no confidence in us. I do appreciate that you suggest the US/Australian relationship is purely business, it will make hard decisions a little more digestible in the near future.
