That controller looks aweful.

I would have rigged it up to a PS3 controller. He's not going to hit any moving targets with what he has.

Are you not figuring that all he needs is three distinct movements, horizontal, vertical and, uh, the trigger?

In other words, he doesn't need a damned keyboard!

To those who doubt the worth of this scratch built remote sniper rifle...

It may have been "cheaper" to buy more guns, and arm more men but I believe that you may be under a false impression.

For a start, it is highly unlikely that the parts which went into the design and manufacture of this system, were paid for at all. They are likley to have been reclaimed from bits of other machines which are either beyond use (perhaps from bombed out factories and warehouses), or scavenged from abandoned machinery.

Second, one cannot place a price on a mans life. Many have tried, but it is actually impossible to put a money value on a persons mortal existence. Therefore, since this system allows a shooter to remain in cover, while able to strike at targets, it is worth more than all the lead ever expended, more than NASA, more than JPL and the entire warbudget of a western nation, and all the above combined and then some.

It's just a sentry gun. And with pervasive technology being everywhere, fairly cheap to make. (At least if you're not trying to milk defense industry contracts and/or build things to high quality standards. Also cheap is better if it's intended to be left behind anyways.)

www.geek.com...

Take something like that in the link right above, and replace the paintball or airsoft gun with the real deal. Doesn't take too much of a genius to figure it out if the information and know-how is common enough. As for why? They have their uses.
