TREBLE CHARGER - RED LYRICS
Saw you looking for a light
Face painted cigarette white
You asked the cleanest boy you found
Couldn't see me turned around
His fingers stretched across your empty gaze
But I just can't escape
As the red fades from your wrinkled dress
A picture of the people you've impressed
Hangs on a wall around here
Vision starts to crawl when I'm near
And the evening waits
While you get caught up to your own mistakes
Made up of different lines
I wouldn't wanna keep in my mind
I wondered why you'd come around
Remembering your little girl frown
Your answers kept the crowd at bay
With compliments unwilling to pay
I have some things I'd like to say to you
But they just can't be true
I will try and interpret:
Simple interpretation:
He is frustrated with his friend who fronts a morality, but ignores him and her former life.
He sees from his perspective the hypocrisy she is in, but can't tell her.
This could be a friend who found a religion and he can't seem to get through to her that she is displaying a shallowness as she pursues her faith. She
is Ignoring him, her friends"pictures of people you have impressed"and he can't understand these "lines", morality that she is caught up in.
Painted face cigaret white - is the mask of morality she wears.
The red in her dress fading- is her "sins" being forgiven or become pure. He sees the red is gone but its still wrinkled.
Her answers kept every one at bay - she keeps her friends at a distance she is not lettering them in.
With compliments unwilling to pay - her friends don't think highly of her.
