There is an old song about walking that final mile alone, you gotta walk it by yourself. I don't think so. Years ago when I worked as a nurse's aide I went through my list giving my patients their baths. One of my patients a man about early 60ish said he would bathe later, he told me he was not a morning person and could we wait until after lunch, I said sure. He seemed quite amicable and had a sense of humor, I recall he made a joke about his being last to get his bath and we both laughed and when I left he was settling down to his nap. I peeked in on him several times as the day progressed. I went in and took his vital signs and he was fine, I came in less than an hour later to offer him his bath again to find him staring at the wall behind me, he even turned his head and peered to the right of me when I blocked whatever it was he was seeing and he was terrified. I looked behind me eerily knowing I would see nothing but I knew he did see something or someone. I offered him a bath and he just shook his head and said NO, then I took his vital signs due to his behavior and though they were not as good as before they were not alarming either. I asked him if he wanted me to stay with him, he said no but still stared at the wall getting more and more agitated. I asked him who or what he saw and he just stared at the wall refusing to answer. I told him I would be back in just a moment. I went straight and got the nurse I told her the new vital signs and she said they were ok, I told her the man was going to die before our shift was up, he was clearly seeing someone and convinced her to come check in on him with me. I think she thought I was crazy and just humoring me. She took one look at him and took his vitals also and went and got her charts and stayed with him. Within an hour the man had coded and died. Later she told me he behaved the same way staring at someone in the room that we could not see. He even asked her if she could see someone else there. My first clue was that someone had come for him and he saw them. I don't think he was fearful of the entity just what the entity being there meant, he knew that he was going to die. I believe that someone came to help him over to the other side. Have you ever had an experience similar to this?

You are welcomed into Heaven by your predecessors and you are also allowed to say good bye to loved ones before you depart. The reason I say this is my grandmother was stricken with cancer and was taking a bath and my mother was listening to her in the tub while she was folding clothes when she heard my grandmother talking, having a conversation with someone. When my mom when to check it out, my grandmother told her that she had just had a conversation with my grandfather who had passed some time before. It wasn't very long after that, that my grandmother passed. After she passed, my mother saw her standing behind our baby grand piano while us three kids where practicing one afternoon, my mother said she saw her standing there and she was smiling from ear to ear, and she would have, as she gave us the piano.

I had a family friend flatline in front of me while having a conversation with our group. When I asked if she saw anything when she went into cardiac arrest she quickly blew me off with a "no". Her expression and behavior said otherwise.

On as side note:

If you or someone else checks into a hospital with chest pain, do not let them put you into a room without a cardiac monitor. If we had not been there to run and get a nurse it would have appeared she died while napping.

I was with my Father when he died and he did the same thing. He could not speak but he was looking intently in the direction of a window at someone or something that was beyond anything we could see. I was holding his hand and occassionally he would look at me with pleading eyes and a sense of urgency. I don't know if it was fear or confusion but he was agitatated and wanted me to either see what he saw or acknowledge something.

He died at his second home which is a ranch that has been in the family for generations. The wildfires of last year had destroyed all 30 acres but the firefighters saved the actual house. The bedroom he died in had a huge window that led to a view of the ranch and I was thinking that maybe he was seeing the fire damage for the first time because his brain injury had occurred within weeks of the fire and he had no recollection of it.

A few days after he died I remembered that about a week before he died he had that 'surge' of energy that hospice talks about. He was speaking more than usual but said odd things like that he had just returned home from church and had attended the service with his Mother and Father (who both died in the 70's). When I started remembering his strange comments about being with people who had already died it made me think that while he was dying those people HAD come for him and that is what he was looking at, not the view.

I guess I'll never know what he saw, but he saw something and he went from a calm, very lethargic state to a very agitated, desperate state right before he died and there was SOMETHING that he was fixated on that I could not see.

My mother who had a series of strokes and a great number of physical problems was an avid atheist.

Yet, when her heart was failing while she was in bed in our home, she said there were two "men" who came to get her. I called 911 and they hauled Mama off to the hospital, and the "men" did not follow. She lived a while longer.

Also, in my dream life, astral traveling I deal with people who are long-gone. But I don't believe they are the ones who will come and get me when the time comes for me to leave. All my associates in the Subjective [bare much too busy for that.

What I expect is that there is a corps of beings or angels whose "job it is" to come get someone from here who is leaving--if they are judged to be worth the trouble.

From the looks of the photographs of unlit "orbs" that are presently in these threads, it also appears that some who die are never claimed. Their spirit--electronic templates--remain here to wander aimlessly.

My birth mother was psychic and she told me for years about the "rescue squads" that come down to this level, this surface, to redeem or simply salvage souls who have become lost, here, upon their death.

Since all reality it linked, it seems to me, being aware and conscious of the one who has come for you needn't be a "bad thing." After all, nobody gets out of here with this body intact, in the first place; and in the second place, there is always an appropriate TIME to go.

I believe we choose That Time, ourselves, subconsciously--even if it appears otherwise to the physical mind.

But that's just my opinion.

I sat with my mother and my father while they passed...both saw and my mother spoke to people as they passed....there were entities in the room that I saw with my father in the corner...bright shinning, flickering lights that showed up about 24 hours before he passed.....he saw them too, though by that point he was weak and couldn't speak, but he would try to raise his hand to them when they would move over the bed at the Hospice....I know in my heart that someone comes to help you cross to the Summerland...

Again something like this has happend in my family. My grandfather recently passed away from a stroke....However when he was in a local hospital, my mum went to visit him, and when they were sitting there talking to him, They noticed that his gaze started to follow something that crossed the room....Until whatever it was went as he returned to his normal self....

I personnally dont know what to believe, but maybe if something like this does happen then it holds hope....

Hmm, it's interesting to see that uncommon name used here. I don't mean to suggest anything other than that tho' certainly not dodgy in any way, just interesting.

Funny....I was just thinking about this again this week...a couple years ago a friend's father died at home, and his wife and daughter (my friend) were at his bedside at the time...late at night after midnight I think, and there was a photograph of the man's mother hanging on the wall across the room from his bed...the moment he died, the photo of his deceased mother fell off the wall and crashed to the floor.

I knew another man who had terminal cancer. He was in a hospital when he died and a friend of mine was sitting up with him and talking to him. The nurses had been giving him morphine shots for several days...Occasionally he would wake up and tell my friend that his mother was standing at the foot of the bed...then later he'd wake up again and claim his childhood nurse was there...he would carry on conversations with these hallucinations? He died a few days later.

Yes depending of your soul level friends or relatives will meet you

Sometimes a soul that has been in earth often will not need a waiting party.

I already know how is going to be waiting for me, because it told me, he has been around since I was a child and he is always there when I am in very stressful situations.

He is a family member that die before I was born.
