Yea, if the first two episodes are anything to go on, this season's going to be cringeworthy compared to the former seasons.
Just too predictable and forced.

I wasn't going to watch this season until it stopped.

I broke down out of bordum and watched the last two yesterday.

Pretty good overall. Some slow spots.

Gonna be snipped if Cersei manages to kill the dragons.

Gonna need them for the ice zombies.

The perfect poetic justice for the ending is if Cersei becomes and Ice zombie

Leaves Jon and the dragon queen finally gonna meet.

Wonder if that incestuous love blossoms the seven kingdoms is famous for.

I think once Jamie strangles cercei he will again sit down on the iron throne and this time it will be Jon who ushers him off the chair. He may get to choose the black..

Brandon needs to jump in one of the dragons and fry Jamie's snipp for what he did.

Be ok if cersei was collateral damage.

So not only is Chubs not finished with Winds of Winter, he's actually working on TWO other books at the same time. Talk about ADD.

I am still working on it, I am still months away (how many? good question), I still have good days and bad days, and that’s all I care to say. Whether Winds or the first volume of Fire and Blood will be the first to hit the bookstores is hard to say at this juncture, but I do think you will have a Westeros book from me in 2018... and who knows, maybe two. A boy can dream...Source

Just finish already.

I read somewhere he may not even bother finishing them at all.

I was pleased with the 3rd episode as the first 2 had been bland i thought , I have never read the books but the author seems to know a lot of folklore and names from the North of Scotland and borrows on them heavily , one example is the cripple boy of Ned Stark ,Brahan the seer brahan.com...

I had a similar feeling when I read New Spring by Robert Jordan, a prequel novella to the Wheel of Time series. I mean it was interesting and everything but dang I wanted him to pound those last few books out instead of giving me backstory.

Hopefully George doesn't pull a Robert and take so long to finish that someone has to finish it for him.

PS: I was actually genuinely sad when he passed and the above is meant tongue-in-cheek.

that kind sealed it for me..

as soon as he said the words ''I am not a stark'' the dragon flew over, like it was declaring!

At this point the show is going to have the same ending as the books so if he doesn't finish at least I know what the ending happens to be.

I never read them but was it a similar situation? Did the person who finished them know what the ending was ahead of time?

Yeah, a little bit of foreshadowing there. Last up is finding out of Tyrion's father was the Mad King or not.

Three dragons, three Targaryens.

Well from what he said before he passed he had an ending scene in mind, and he made copious notes on all the characters and settings. The series was finished by Brandon Sanderson who has authored other very cool fantasy books. He doesn't go into as much flowery descriptive detail as Jordan did (and this has oft been cited as a boon to the series), but overall I think he did the series justice.

It just kind of sucks that the man who penned the first word wasn't the man who penned the last. Bittersweet, I'd call it.

Well, if Martin croaks I suggest Dave Barry finishes the series and takes it in a different direction.

Dany is his aunt, not his sister.

Aunt ?

They both look to be about the same age.

Or Jon being a little older.
