I think once Jamie strangles cercei he will again sit down on the iron throne and this time it will be Jon who ushers him off the chair. He may get to choose the black..
I am still working on it, I am still months away (how many? good question), I still have good days and bad days, and that’s all I care to say. Whether Winds or the first volume of Fire and Blood will be the first to hit the bookstores is hard to say at this juncture, but I do think you will have a Westeros book from me in 2018... and who knows, maybe two. I read somewhere he may not even bother finishing them at all.

I had a similar feeling when I read New Spring by Robert Jordan, a prequel novella to the Wheel of Time series. I mean it was interesting and everything but dang I wanted him to pound those last few books out instead of giving me backstory.
Hopefully George doesn't pull a Robert and take so long to finish that someone has to finish it for him.
PS: I was actually genuinely sad when he passed and the above is meant tongue-in-cheek.
