Mathematical Sex Symbols

I logged onto facebook this afternoon. I try not to do that very often but wanted to see what some of my relatives that I rarely see were doing and look at pictures of my fabulous little niece because I haven't seen her in a week and you know how it is with grandchildren, nieces and nephews, you're addicted to the little turkeys.

Anyway, I saw a wall full of equal signs, some horizontal, others vertical. Apparently the horizontal ones support same sex marriage, the vertical ones support opposite sex marriage all on a red background.

They even had a division sign for some reason or another. I guess because someone was "dividing" groups of people or something.

Then there's the + symbol and the - symbol and parenthesis. I think I want to figure out a way to use exponents and pi


Do they figure that since most people hate algebra, that it'll make them hate the opposing position too?

Of course the people against it are rotating it 90 degrees then claiming it stands for the opposite stance (because they couldn't think up one on their own )
