Breaking-Gun/weapons found in a high school in TX

m.news9.com

Wednesday morning, police arrested a 10th-grade student at Putnam City North High School who they say brought a handgun, ceremonial swords, a knife and fireworks to school.

The items were found in the student's backpack. After the arrest, police searched the school grounds and found several more items hidden under a grate. Those items included a bottle of lantern oil, a sock soaked in lantern oil, more fireworks and a fuse.

The student's name has not been released.

I'm afraid as of yet there is no concrete story, reading this through a fellow in another forum about a mile from the school, Oklahoma. Apparently they nabbed the would be shooter right in time.

Yet another one. If items were buried, he was probably pretty set on doing this rather than just having a gun in a car/bag.

Well at least no one was hurt by this and the suspect is in custody.

I do have one question. What the hell was he trying to do with a sock, lantern oil, and some fireworks? Make a bomb?

Sticky grenade style molotov probably.

Sock + lantern oil--maybe trying to make a molotov type of thing? Fireworks--if they were the popping kind, distraction from where the shooter actually is? Just a guess.

Oh forgot to mention that this happened in Oklahoma City which is in Oklahoma...not Texas.

4th of July is still about 4 months away, this student just can't wait.

This won't reflect well on the parents.

Sticky bomb-Minus the Sticky

You can see one on Saving Private Ryan. They used it to destroy tank tracks.

This kid didnt have to worry about tanks.

And fireworks can be used as bombs- add lantern oil...messy.

This guy sounds like he's been watching too many action movies.

I bet this is going to end with " Children getting guns from their parents... BAN GUNS, GUNS BAD"

Better to blame the entire spectrum of the system rather than what you mistakenly take as a single gang leader and a gang following him to whatever end you imagine. Your logic is lame and you make yourself just as much a pawn of the system as anybody.

If blame is to go around, it's for the system, namely media. It's larger than one president and his goons, and it's more influential than you give credit to.

1. Start a fire in the grate with fireworks.(they do not say what it was. Those mortars WFYU...
2. This causes everyone to come outside.
3. Throw more into crowd to cause confusion.
4. Start to pick them off, no one hears it with the fireworks.
5. Cause smoke, more confusion, move to swords/knives ala Columbine/VTECH.

So, where is there a flaw in the plan?

I would say that that is an ignorant post but that is giving it too much credit. It is just a special kind of stupid.

If you are going to make remarks like that can you provide any proposed legislature, remarks from NRA, anything at all that corroborates your intellectually deficient insinuation that the NRA or anyone else wants 10th graders to be hiding weapons in schools.

I didn't say hide..
I said the NRA wants to put guns into schools.

For a week it was largely silent. But yesterday the National Rifle Association – and its belligerent CEO Wayne LaPierre – came out all guns blazing. In its first meaningful response to the Newtown massacre, America’s largest pro-gun lobby group offered its solution to deaths in the classroom: armed guards in every school. “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with gun,” Mr LaPierre said.

www.independent.co.uk...

The powerful US gun rights lobby went on the offensive on Friday, arguing that schools should have armed guards, on a day that Americans remembered the victims of the Connecticut school massacre with a moment of silence.
National Rifle Association Chief Executive Wayne LaPierre argued that attempts to keep guns out of schools were ineffective and made schools more vulnerable than airports, banks and other public buildings patrolled by armed guards.

www.smh.com.au...

psychopathic yanky gun nuts.. not all of you.. but a large % of you.

if you want to have so many weapons in your suburban streets then expect your children, friends or family to be shot up by crazed lunatics who can access weapons more easily than they can access drugs.

reap what you sow!

That is a story for every state every year. Headline says OK, other headline says TX. I don't think it matters in states like that. There are always teenage boys with the deluxe weapons collection coming to school to for an unofficial show and tell with their friends. Does it mean they're going to go nuts and hurt everybody? No. They'll probably keep collecting weapons for years, or until they run into trouble with an addiction and have to pawn them all to support their habit.

He's stupid. Weapons get confiscated at school, everybody on planet America knows this. Why would he take all his prized possessions to school like that? Oh he is testing the system seeing if someone cares. And now he's going to hell for it.

The lantern oil, sock, and fuse sounds like he was going into pyromaniac mode. All you need to do now is search his bedroom for small animal skulls to tell if he's a pure psycho. He was too paranoid to leave his goodie bag at home, meaning his parents give half a care about what he's up to.

There's about a dozen different ways to turn lantern oil and a sock into a hurty thing. So we ban socks now.
