Justices poised to strike down entire healthcare law

articles.latimes.com

The Supreme Court's conservative justices said Wednesday they are prepared to strike down President Obama’s healthcare law entirely.
Picking up where they left off Tuesday, the conservatives said they thought a decision striking down the law's controversial individual mandate to purchase health insurance means the whole statute should fall with it.
The court’s conservatives sounded as though they had determined for themselves that the 2,700-page measure must be declared unconstitutional.
"One way or another, Congress will have to revisit it in toto," said Justice Antonin Scalia.

There is nothing affordable about this Act. Its about forcing everyone to buy into it. and for the people that cant afford it. well its free to you. With this plan way would any one buy into it. Only buy it when you need it... The government cant run the programs in place already. This is just going to put us more in debt. So when the Country runs out of money and the hospital and doctors don't get paid where are we then. Hmmm like Greece there not in to good of shape right now. Let throw the scared cards in this oh young people wont have insurance, people on medicare wont get their bills paid. Please Fix the system we have in place before this Affordable care act..... People you really don't want Our Government getting to much control over our lives. Socialist government is not a good thing.

You do know this happened in 2012 right? Why are you posting this a year later?

This article is just a little bit dated.

March 28, 2012

Its pretty well known that Justice Roberts botched the whole strike down of Obamacare when he decreed it a tax. The writers of this article were just as accurate as the folks predicting a Romney landslide and economic prosperity as far as they eye can see back in 2006.

Ok. Roberts declaring the mandate a "tax" should have voided obama care then and there. All bills generating "revenue"(raising/implementing taxes) are Constitutionally required to originate in the House of Representatives. The current abominable care act originated in the senate. UnConstitutional and void.

Better wait than never.

A stich back in time saves nine (justices).

The grass is always greener last year.

Yesterday, all my troubles seem too far away to remember..

The past is a window and the future is a door.

(Ha! Just made those up, and if the last one ends up on a bumper sticker, blame me!)

weird

I was thinking about this last night. this will be a catastrophe, the fines are less than buying insurance, so people will be fined and have nothing to show for it, but it will eat into their vacation money, mortgage money, retirement money and be awful for the economy

so what will the gov't do ?

raise the fines to force people onto the plans

just a terrible idea and shame on roberts
