Does anyone know what Im talking about?

I have heard about non-specific rumours/rumblings in reference to a high-powered organisation that meets secretly at undisclosed locations that involves high profile people (heads of states?) etc.
I am not sure what exactly I am trying to find as I dont know where to begin looking for information.
All I know is that it is a powerful group of people (I heard ex presidents etc) that meet to shape/control world events and has been speculated about for some time. Does it exist? Where can I find more info, and what is it all about? (a new world order/secret society....what???)
Any direction would be of great interest.
