Hey Folks, i was dumb enough to NOT eat anything before drinking, and did not drink any water before going to sleep drunk.

Woke up with nasty hangover, that is lasting more than a day .. i'm on 40 hours now...the effect has declined but traces of it is still there.

I only got severe hangover 2x in my life, i'm usually careful on my consumption.

Now from the pros, what do you suggest ONCE you got hangover? i know preventions, but not treatment.

This is what i have tried.

Alka Seltzer - helped a bit.
Walking/Exercising - made me sweat and tired... im not sure if it helped me
Vitamin C and Vitamin B pills - not sure but biologically speaking, it should.
Water - definitely helping.
Sleep - yes helping.

My dad suggested a shot of vodka. But at this moment, alcohol disgusts me.

What do you guys suggest?

I have not tried but is it true that drinking a bit of alcohol, shot of vodka/beer, takes your mind off the hangover?

Just thinking about alcohol and the smell just making me throw up >

Sprite and or 7up with Lime/Lemon juice and Sea Salt (salt shaker) to taste.

A hangover is nothing more then dehydration, and this mix (that you can drink while you are drinking) is more electrolytic then water alone.

Also, the salt helps you keep your water and alcohol seeks water, bonds with it and extracts it. Wonder why you have to use the restroom more so when you drink? Wonder why alcohol is good to get water out of your gas tank?

Other then that, don't binge drink and you shouldn't have a problem in the future.

I was dumb, i admit it.

I thought the frequent urinating is because of diuretic acid in alcohol that loosen the bladder, but yes i can understand the electrolyte intake.

Since you don't care to partake of the "hair of the dog that bit you" my suggestion is that you consume something that will cause you to hurl. Sometimes getting it over with is just what the doctor ordered.

Take a glass and fill it with ice.
Sprinkle Angostura Bitters over the ice.
Top the glass off with either water or club soda, depending on how far you would like the projectile vomit to go.
Drink it down.
You will feel better after you have cleaned up the mess.

Only beer. Or Water.

Beer is 95% or more water.

It contains stomach soothing amino acids and the analgesic effects of a little alcohol are well documented.

No Vodka. A hangover is also a little bit of alcohol-withdrawal.

Beer gives a little alcohlol with a lot of water and some electrolytes.

Paracetamol will stop the headaches.

Very simple, take pedialyte. yes the childrens drink. Just ask any musician that is on the road partying. You drink that before a night of heavy drinking. It keeps you hydrated, which is a major factor in the hangover.

Or another good thing is genetics. If you father was a heavy drinker or alcoholic you won't get them as bad as others, of course this way is not preferred lol.

Nice, this is something new...

Im guessing this would help at an earlier time?

Im 40 hours into it, so the alcohol is well inside the blood and not in stomach. if it will i don't mind throwing up >o

BACON! And an egg! You need protein and salts.

Your body literally just pissed out any nutrients you need.

That and lots of water!

Trust me Bacon makes everything better!

Hmm, i have pretty high tolerance. But like i said, lack of food and water kinda wasted me.

But regarding the children drink, would that make you sober up faster? i mean, if i'm drinking to feel the buzz, wouldn't that kinda defeat the purpose?

Alcohol dehydrates you so water or a sports drink with electrolytes in it will help greatly.

Also bread or other starchy food, a bit of honey as well.

Alcohol burns up the sugar in your body, people with diabetes have to be very cautious when it comes to drinking, but people of normal health have a similar reaction.

Take it slowly, but as soon as you rehydrate and increase your sugar, you will feel much better.

refrence, another reference, some more helpful info
