Seems the US and UK ''accepted'' face of the Syrian opposition has taken his seat at the world table.

Ahmed Moaz al-Khatib, the head of the opposition coalition who resigned a couple of days ago, took Syria's official seat at the summit

and whats his first request?

....said the United States should use Patriot missiles to protect rebel-held areas from President Bashar al-Assad's airpower.Moaz Alkhatib said he had asked U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry for U.S. forces to help defend rebel-controlled northern parts of Syria with Patriot surface-to-air missiles.
The insurgents have few weapons to counter Assad's helicopter gunships and warplanes.

pretty specific, seems Kerry has taken a lead role in getting involved here, the European nations are looking for a way to provide more munitions to the rebels.. could we have patriots flying left and right now?

by the way, anyone seen Assad today? Syria's News story seems a little to convenient..

DAMASCUS, (SANA) – President Bashar al-Assad on Monday issued decree no. 119 for 2013, naming Mohammad Za'al al-Ali as Governor of Hasaka province.
President al-Assad on January 15th, 2013 issued two decrees naming Fawaz Ali al-Saleh as governor of Dir Ezzor and Safwan Suleiman Abu Sa'adi as governor of Idleb.

...So.where's Assad?

Two days in a row now syrian state news hasn't shown any new video or images of him.

Today we have an articlle saying he sent a letter to BRIC nations.... Strangely the article used the same stock photo that yesterdays news piece did.

If all this world wide assasination talk was wrong, you'd think he'd have atleast pushed for something on state news showing he was alive...

Somethings very wrong here

On monday ahmed moaz resigns
The same day its reported Assad is dead
The next day Ahmed Moaz becomes syrias leader at the arab un table.

Was one a cover for the other or did assad get bumped? What's todays battle reports and where are the saa?
