Dark

It lurks within your soul
The evils of our kind
Those wicked damning demons
That live in all our minds

You say you follow good
To help, to love, to care
Ignoring your dark feelings
The sickness you can't bear

But often times you feel
When you are alone
The urge to hurt or kill
The darkness you condone

For enemies provoke you
You drown in endless pain
Your mind twists and contorts
And you become insane

At times you forget mercy
You tend to hurt and maim
But you yourself are blinded
The world takes the blame

The evil now engulfes you
Surrounded by the sin
And driven by your sadness
You allow it in

You're broken, scarred and bruised
And you allow the dark
To consume and penetrate
Your ever tortured heart

A once innocent spirit
Now walks the earth damaged
Ruined by the darkness
The evil leaves you ravaged

Between the good and evil
You no longer see
The goodness you once claimed
Now leaves you empty

You strut with pride and shame
You front as though you're right
But deep inside you know
You live within the night

As pain and anger fuel you
You forget all that is good
You live to do your best
Well... you said you would

Hate and pain attack you
More and more each day
Like they always have
The slaughter of your way

When you see the mirror
Demons stare back at you
You justify your darkness
By all the sin you do

And blind to your own wrongness
You keep corrupting light
Convinced that you are good
Convinced you're doing right

The world molded you
And you carry the plague
Infecting all man kind
And everyone you jade

Murder innocence
Death is all their fate
To kill all that is good
To exterminate

And lost in drone-like wonder
The sickness eats the earth
Good and light is wrong
Death is what its worth

The army rules the world
You reign with a black heart
You've won humanity
By the power of the dark.

In the ashes of your destruction
and the emptiness of your soul
will you take the same action
and continue as you are told

In my journey through the dark
a job needed to be sold
when I finally found compassion
I was released from its hold

Life and death is everywhere
it is in the rules of the game
while you still have choices
will you still pick the same
