I forgot some less mainstream films.

Stranger than Paradise by Jim Jarmusch - an excellent, ironical film.
Also, Dead Man by the same director.
Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring - on a peaceful Zen theme by noted Korean director Ki-duk Kim
Stalker - a science-fiction film by Andrei Tarkovsky - a spiritual search by a team in an abandoned factory complex. Made still when the Soviet Union was operating.
Kurosawa - all his films, especially the mystical black and white Rashomon, then the Shakespearean Ran.

Jaws followed by Silence of the Lambs. One I cant pass on the Tv and the other Hubby cant pass by. It doesn't matter where in the movie we come in, beginning, middle, or end we stop and watch if even for just a few scenes,

NL Christmas Vacation is surely one of the biggest. And A Christmas Story. And A Wonderful Life.

Jason Friday 13th around october and also the Halloweentown series.

Apart from holiday movies the ones I have most watched were The Goonies, Independence Day (will smith vrs aliens) and Caddyshack. Idk why they draw you in even after watching them 50 million times.

eta: just noticed Independence Day is a holiday movie as well. funny I didn't realize it when I wrote that.

Yes, leave TBS on on Christmas-eve as the background noise and you get 24 straight hours of "A Christmas Story. "
Be honest now, how many out there pronounce FRAGILE as Fra geel ee, ( Its Italian, LOL.)

"Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas"

I've seen it literally hundreds of times. I'ts like the theme of my life. I watch it, sleep to it, and often just have it playing in the background while i'm making music and doing other stuff.

Terry Gilliam is a beast behind that camera.

OK, that would be the original "Airport" with Burt Lancaster, Dean Martin, Jacqueline Bisset, et al...I got to see this 104 times thanks to being a projectionist at the local theatre while in high school...Don't care if I ever see it again...
By choice? The Wizard of Oz.
