Many reports on facebook that I have seen,apparently twitter also. I have heard more than one,but only one large one.

I'm sorry I missed it! I would have LOVED to see this with my own eyes!

I missed it unfortunately and was outside near the time.
At least this one didn't land in Allentown,Pa.and blow up another gas line, like it was speculated on here a year or two ago

The ones I have been seeing recently don't look anything like the ones I have seen in the past.

They were white streaks. Even when I planned to watch them.

These ones lately have been fireballs.

Large ones that seem to travel much slower and don't cause a white streak. I have seen one green. And one red.

I am just wondering if some people are getting excited about these things that are just "shooting star". Space is scary.

I looked on google images for "shooting stars" and the images look similar. I think the main thing is how close you are to these things.

the first reports i heard were on Talk Radio, i listen as i work in the yard every day on a solar powered radio,,,


the news reports say the East-Coast fireball was probably the size of a basketball.....

or a lot smaller than the one over Russia that exploded--- the Russian event was supposed to be the size of a small bus



so there are - at most- only tiny fragments scattered all over the East Coast as it disintegrated instead of exploding

Delawarean here, didn't see it. I was at a Vietnamese restaurant and if I had a choice between the meteor and the Saigon Duck, I still would've gone with the Saigon Duck. A meteor is amazing, but that dinner would've still trumped.

Facebook lit up about it and I had to go to a meteor watch sight to find details so I guess it wasn't a big enough ordeal for the local news. I'm grateful for social media though because it keeps better track of local events.

The fire video Miracula posted above was pretty awesome, but I couldn't quite pin down why. Probably because I was an Alice Cooper/Def Leppard/etc fan and could see where metal got some of their ideas.

ATS people are cool, I didn't bother thinking about it being anything other than a meteor because they're usually fairly distinct, but it could've been something out of Dover Air Force Base. Interesting stories come from that place, though the few times I stayed there I didn't see anything first-hand.
