Hi big...I am sure that Russia will expect something extra for extending it's financing of the Island, after all it is now a money laundering
industry for Russia, according to some.
To be honest I rather think this is a lever to extract a better deal from the European bank. Give us the money or else.
One thing Russia is considering is asking for a naval base, despite the presence of two British bases.
Good point ibi.., the policy certainly seems to be the product of German thinking, so may well have re-stoked old memories in Cyprus, but I rather
think the punishment might be more aimed at the growing influence Russia is having.
I had never realised how much Russian money was invested in the Cypriot system, it's with drawl would pose big problems for Cyprus.
" its price will drop as more nations discover gas deposits"
You really think that? Suppose so in the US with fracking, but then oil etc has always been cheap there, as opposed to the high costs in Europe. I
dread opening my gas/electricity bills this year, with all the increases.
