N.Korea is the current threat, not China.

China CCP govt may be corrupted and greedy, but they are not stupid.

They may desire to own the entire South China Sea, but if at the cost of war with its neighbours, it would wipe out any gain it hopes through such illegal aquisitions, and even wiping themselves out in the process. They are not stupid or sleeping.

Right now, in their own homeland, there is wide spread growing discontent over inflation, corruption, wages and income disparity. It needs peace in order to prosper, not a costly and ruinous war whereby they get wiped out in the process from the front and the back.

China had already disown N.Korea by its agreement to sanctions to it. It will make some noise, and will only side with N.Korea BUT at UN, if N.Korea is attacked. It stands to gain if baby kim and his gang is thrashed by S.Korea and US, WITHOUT its troops involves as both nations are willing to let Korea be nuke free and N.Korea a China puppet state. S.Korea have no might to take on China alone, nor is USA willing to stomach a war with China today unless China strikes first.

Russia is supposed to be China's sidekick, but emperor Putin plays no second fiddle to anyone. He too wants a share of the South China Sea, for himself and his corrupted cronies if the opportunity comes, and China CCP govt is not that naive to trust Russia to watch China's back.

Only Geopolitical realities......Keep the eyes on N.Korea instead. It's there where the action will begin......

A very scary twist of fate that would be, but not impossible
as the Russian meteor has shown us.

I brought this up in another thread but, instead of bombing Guam wouldn't they just bomb Fukishima and just poison us to death that way they wouldn't have to send missiles over here? I know it would be stupid but it would make quite the statement and I was just informed they are within almost the same proximity. So what do you guys think about that? Am I just crazy for thinking that up or do you think the military has already put that into their simulations of what could happen? Also we have many bases in Japan as well. I didn't want to make a seperate thread about it considering we have almost enough NK threads to start our own forum, so what say you?

Kim Jong Un must be on thin ice with the hardliners if he's doing this much posturing.I believe this has more to do with internal politics than anything the US and SK are doing.

That sounds like they are trying to dig up as much as they can to rationalize just going in and taking out the current NK government.
In other words - to rationalize initiating a war.
It won't be long now.

and big ones at that here is the latest check from RodongSinmun

Pyongyang, March 22 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Friday editorially calls upon all service personnel and people to unite around the dear respected Kim Jong Un as firm as a rock to devotedly defend the sovereignty of the country and nation and certainly achieve the historic cause of national reunification.
The great army-people unity of the DPRK has reached the highest level in the crucible of all-people resistance, the paper says, and goes on:
Our great army-people unity is the strongest not only in the will of upholding the leader but in sentiment and love for comrades-in-arms. When service personnel come out in a decisive battle, the people respond to it in a do-or-die spirit. They shield each other even under a hail of bullets and shells and donate their blood and flesh to each other without hesitation.
The present situation in which a great epic of army-people unity is created under the leadership of Kim Jong Un clearly proves that a sure guarantee has been provided for a final victory in the all-out action against the U.S. imperialists.
Standing on the right side of Kim Jong Un leading the present all-out action to victory are service personnel and on his left side the heroic people like fortresses and shields.
Neither reckless moves of the enemies to hurt the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK nor psychological warfare to divorce the party from the masses and disturb people's mindset can ever break the will of the army and people to cement their single-minded unity.
Today we have powerful nuclear deterrent and weapon of unity more powerful than it.
There can never be the second Armistice Agreement for the DPRK as it has tremendous political and military power incomparable with that in the past Fatherland Liberation War. A final victory is in store for the army and people of the DPRK fighting with the might of great army-people unity, something unprecedented in the world, having the illustrious commander of Mt. Paektu at the helm of the revolution. -0-
one must rember this is their DPRK official news er Propaganda site, as if Un, er Kim, little Un, was to say it him self. the end of this month or by next we will know what Un er DPRK China has in mind.

They also act like this is a new thing under Lil'un. This has been going on for awhile...maybe this is a scare tactic for them to use against him?

I actually had the same feeling regarding this.

It could also be the way the west is going to play the next cards dealt. It would be the one way that the UN would get some support to go in, its too late to use the nuclear weapon excuse.

The UN is playing a barginning chip. " You let us in to inspect and we leave you alone and simply write up a report stating that Human rights are being vilolated or....You will have the entire UN council on your a$$ asking for the liberation of the NK people !...you're move !!! " Now little Un can't have it both ways, if he is smart, wich I doubt, he will take the bargining chip and run. Just look what the UN has been saying about China and it's human rights violations for years......We have not gone to war over it either....

In the end though, I honestly do not think that little Un will take the offer, he want's supreme power at all cost and will sacrifice his people no matter what, he just doesn't realize that no matter the man power he holds and even a couple of dirty nukes is just plain not enough to keep NK alive.

From all that we know about NK, the infrastucture of the whole country is weak, all it would take to put them out of commission is a few stratigic hits, take out communications, transportation and little Un's personal housing, you know...hit home where it counts. Let SK take care of the dividing boarder and the UN coalition fight behind the enemies lines. The whole "war" could probably be taken care of by drones and B2's, no real need to send in troops and risking lives.

If and that's a big IF little Un wants to prehemtively strike, I say let him, he would ultimately be digging his own grave, yes inocent lives would be taken in SK or on US bases, call it casualties of war but in the end if NK strikes first, they will be completely illiminated from the picture and will be inihalated from the map.

China would not support a prehemtive strike by NK, figuratively speaking it would be like the pitbull chewing it's own leach and going after the neighbour's Chowchow!!
Little Un is in a "no win" situation regardless of what happens if he starts a war. The only way he wins face is by rattling his sword. The joint excercise between the U.S. and SK goes as planned, nothing happens and little Un can go back to his people and say " We have discouraged the UN from invading, they are scared of our power, we have won!!"

why don't you write a letter to Mr Kim jong Un or is it Eun and see what he says to that, or one to china about the island disputes. Syria and their war, nice thought but sadly just not going to happen with the way man kind is.

C'mon Kim, the doom-porn nihilists don't want to be disappointed!

Seriously though, I don't think much will happen. The odds aren't stacked in his favor, even if he does have a half dozen nukes and a million man army. As far as assets are concerned the eggs over there are pretty much kept tidy in one geographically limited basket.

you have got to ask your self this "it is this wish of the people and of your dad and dads dad to have one nation, by any means" , you made the promise to them and to your people, to make it so, do you just turn and walk a way or do you push ahead not matter what the cost to make it so? this is what Un is facing, could use the drills/war games to make war or could be bluffing in hopes of SK surrendering.
