Nothing says pacificism like a username of DestroyDestroyDestroy. But seriously, in the US the Iraq war was affirmed by the Congress. Congress has the ability to investigate and had the opportunity to tell the President "no", yet that whole "he lied" narrative that you display puts the onus on Bush and ignores that the Congress didn't do their due diligence. So that's why people lump you with the liberals, you subscribe to their accusations of putting blame exclusively on the Bush team while ignoring the role Congress played. However, Obama can't claim the same shelter. He unilaterally acted in Libya with a total disregard to Congress. So while you want to claim to be antiwar and give cursory lipservice to Obama's malfeasance, you emphasize Bush. When it wasn't Bush, but Congress who bought that bridge.

Bravo!!!

Guess he forgot huh?

Was that before or after he promised to cure cancer and build a city on alpha century?

aka, no..he never said that...such a claim is absurd and even the most inept drone knows the facts better than that.

However, I could be wrong (black may be white). So, why not provide the quote where Obama vowed that.

Will be over there...growing old...waiting for that quote..or a talking squirrel. Whichever comes first (money is on the squirrel)

That's about as accurate and succinctly put as can be put.

Add to that: the media turns socialists on and off like a dim light with a bad lamp shade on their heads. When the lamestream mainstream media wants an antiwar protest, flip goes the switch.

Except it is getting harder. The socialists are getting lazier and more complacent with the increased welfare. For the time being. Until welfare collapses.

I wonder if they actually GOT the letter I hope so.

If Bush were president, this story would be on the front page. The letter writer would have been invited to appear on a myriad of cable network programs.

But the letter comes now. It is basically a non-story. This letter does not fit the media's needs. Why they printed the story is anyone's guess. It's just filler. Something they can pull up at a later date to say that they are being fair and balanced.

It still remains a non-story smothered by Lindsey Lohan's club dating schedule.

That's good....you not only hit the nail, you drove the nail deep into the Whack a Mole's forehead.

The media has strictly established the guidelines as to what is a good progressive, and what is expected of a good progressive....and how badly the media can malign those who are not good progressives.

This is not so much a story about whether the war is good or bad.......truthfully, at this point in time if we did not have these wars, America's economy would have completely tanked already............this is a story about how the media manipulates the mind.

Thank you for calling me 'Sir.' But that wasn't necessary.

Anyway, what I'm going on about is how the media turns socialists on and off like a dim light bulb wearing a bad lampshade.

This story would have been front page, grade A material when Bush was in office. Today, it is a space filling story. It means little to nothing in the scheme of things.

The antiwar protestors and the global warming fanatics are all complacent and deeply resigned in a welfare program somewhere. The war protests of old were nothing more than designs to get more welfare programs in place in America. They weren't protests about the war. They were protests to spend less money on the military so that more money could be spent on welfare programs.

The world is full of hypocrits.

Its worse than that. The world is full of uneducated idiots. The betrayal goes far beyond injured and dying vets, it goes all the way back to the CREATION of a standing army.

Antifederalist No. 28
THE USE OF COERCION BY THE NEW GOVERNMENT (PART III)

This essay was published in either the (Philadelphia) Freeman's Journal; or, The North-American Intelligencer, January 16, 1788.

The advocates at the present day, for a standing army in the new Congress, pretend it is necessary for the respectability of government. I defy them to produce an instance in any country, in the Old or New World, where they have not finally done away the liberties of the people. Every writer upon government-- Locke, Sidney, Hampden, and a list of others have uniformly asserted, that standing armies are a solecism in any government; that no nation ever supported them, that did not resort to, rely upon, and finally become a prey to them.

Well I am antiwar and I care about that letter.

You should rather wonder if the PRO-WAR madmen like Bush and Cheney care about it!

Only that it feels like a very soft and gentle letter to send to the most corrupt, EVIL presidential gang to have ever seated at the White House (aside from the Obama gang).

In this society, our biggest mistake, I think, is to be too nice and civilized, especially with the most barbaric and sociopathic scum, like the Bush clan. The evil ones feed on the goodness of the honest and peaceful people.

Here's the quote:

He never states Afghanistan..his thing was leaving Iraq and going after OBL/Afghanistan. Now, I am almost 100% certain that is what he is discussing whenever he said this.

Now, he did gaffe once about the subject once

President Barack Obama experienced a rare speaking stumble Thursday, mixing up Iraq and Afghanistan when responding in a YouTube interview to questions challenging the wars in those countries.

The president twice referred to Afghanistan when clearly talking about the situation in Iraq.

He said that the United States would withdraw all combat troops from Afghanistan by the end of 2011 and that combat operations there had ended, which actually describes the situation and policy for Iraq.

It was unclear whether Obama realized his mistake. He then correctly stated the situation in Afghanistan, saying the United States would start withdrawing some forces beginning in July, with the goal of handing over full security responsibilities to the Afghan government in 2014.

Meh, long road..but he cleared it up.

Surely you aren't suggesting any gaffe, even if its corrected a few moments later, is to be considered the plan regardless of how insane that is...

Anyhow, the whole Obama said we would leave Afg in the first term was always a republican lie as usual. Thing is, with the internet and credible sources, such things are easily found out to be the lie they are...and polls and elections show the result of such deception (on both sides when its used).

Sorry for my delay mind you. but I actually don't live on ATS...so there are times when a few hours pass between posts...for purposes of either sleeping, eating, social life, or work.

But no worries, I was here to use the magic google machine for you.

*sigh*

The same thing happens when we have a Republican president for two terms.

This isn't new, and it isn't some kind of conspiracy. When Republicans are in the WH, the Democrats bitch. When Democrats are in the WH the Republicans bitch.

Whatever side is in the WH is placated.

I don't even know why this is a "thing", let alone a 4+ page discussion on ATS.

I'd rather carry a .30 caliber automatic into war than go into a welfare office with a food stamp application form.

I'm sure you 'care' about the letter. But that's about all you can do. You couldn't get a hundred socialists off the sofa to protest Obama's war.

You might get a dozen or so off the sofa to protest that the union put Hostess Twinkies out of business.

Alas, the socialists are over there. We're over here. Never the twain shall meet. And for socialists to think they can tell us how to live is a laugh and a half.

Anyway, it's nice that you 'care.' But the antiwar and global warming hysteria is nothing but a distant memory from the Bush years gone by.

You should vote for a Republican in 2016, if you ever have any hopes of seeing a revival of the antiwar, global warming movements.

By the time a Republican gets back into office, the socialists will be too overweight to get off the sofa to protest anything.

Poor Michelle. She can see the Greek Drama of socialism developing.

Anyway, yeah, socialism is a part of American life. We've accepted that fact. We just keep ourselves that much further separate from socialism. After all, America is a melting pot. We don't want the socialists starving in the streets.

Though as the welfare system implodes, the socialists are going to get antsy. That Zombie Apocalypse thing might rear its ugly head. We have to fight for the Second Amendment...and the Tenth Amendment....while shrugging and accepting that socialism is a way of life in America....for some. Those apart from us.

Oh, well. We all get a laugh at those photographs of the Walmart shoppers.

Why protest something that funds the American dream? These wars are what puts gas in your SUVs and Big Macs in your belly.

Something needs to fund American excess. Without this over-consumption, there would be no wars.

Well it's really a shame that it has become a main choice for tens of millions of Americans these days.

And 11 years of wars against foreign populations did little to make American's life's better (as opposed to the rampant claim that war is good for the "economy"... whose economy?), actually you've got the highest unemployment rates in decades, and by far the biggest prison population ever, on the entire planet.

If that's the new order you wanna fight for, I can't keep you from it, but soon you may also have to use that .30 caliber automatic against Americans, who may actually keep you from it, by defending themselves against the mindless, soulless drone you will then have become. But I'm sure you won't mind, since you've been probably already brainwashed in believing that the Enemy is all those "welfare people" who profiteer from America, and not the global, ultra-rich corporate establishment that destroyed what was left of the Republic over the past few years. Bravo, alpha...

I'm against socialism, INCLUDING the very corporate socialism that makes YOU go to fight wars for a bunch of criminal bankers, namely the Wall Street gang. Fighting for a flag? Yeah... now it's just about that, nothing more substantial. You might as well go shoot people for your local football team, fer christ sake... that'd be pretty much the same!

So Left-Right dichotomy, doesn't exist. It's all FASCISM. Two puppets held by the hands of the same invisible people, deceiving YOU in destroying your life and/or other people's lives for their own profit.

Why will the collapse be messy? It's the liberals who lack the physical power and weaponry to survive. They will eat their own in that scenario. Normal folk will be fine.

Humanity is going to have to become more socialist in order to survive. As the world population continues to increase, and technology advances -- secularism and socialism will becomre more and more common.

The "old guard" mentality will eventually be forced to go down (kicking and screaming) -- but it will happen. It's inevitable.

Eventually we're all going to have to accept that we're not British, American, German, or Canadian.

We're HUMAN.

If humanity has any future at all, this must happen. We're going to have a NWO, so we might as well get used to the idea, and try to formulate ideas on how to mitigate it's negative consequences.

The anti-NWO/conservative people remind of the people Bob Dylan sings to in his song, "The Times, They Are A-Changin"

Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don’t criticize
What you can’t understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is rapidly agin’
Please get out of the new one if you can’t lend your hand

For the times they are a-changin’

Absolutely true.

The Feinstein Wives want to grab our guns because they believe everyone should perish equally.

It's going to be a mess in the socialist environs. What was that movie about New York city being turned into a prison? Escape From New York? With Snake Pitkin?

It's all part of Social Darwinism. We take it as a challenge to stay fit. Pump iron with your Glock.

NOW I LAY ME DOWN TO SLEEP
WITH MY GLOCK BY MY SIDE I WILL KEEP
IF I SHOULD WAKE AND YOU ARE INSIDE
THE CORONER'S WAGON IS YOUR NEXT RIDE.

Due to the rising cost of ammo...burglars should not expect a warning shot.

Ah, well. It may not be the best war we ever had....but it's the only one we have at the time.
